The University of Hawai?i Rainbow Warrior basketball team begins its Western Athletic Conference schedule with a meeting versus defending WAC champs Boise State Saturday, Jan. 3 Tipoff is 7:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
It will be the seventh straight home game for the Bows, who are the on the tail end of an eight-game home stand. UH is 5-1 during that span and have picked up all of its eight wins within the friendly confines of the Stan Sheriff Center.
UH (7-4) is coming off a fifth-place showing in the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic. The Rainbow Warriors went 2-1 during the tourney and won its last two games over George Washington (73-47) and Pepperdine (78-70). UH enters WAC play having been picked 7th by the coaches and 8th by the media in the preseason polls conducted in October.
The Broncos, last year?s regular-season and WAC Tournament champions, were picked to finish fifth in both preseason polls. Despite losing key personnel from last year?s title squad, Boise State has gotten off to a solid 9-3 start.
Hawai`i will conclude its eight game home stand with a game versus Louisiana Tech on Monday, Jan. 5 at 7:05 p.m.
