Easily. Especially at the end of the year, if anyone disagrees they havent seen Pete Carrolls record against top 5 or top 10 teams.. or for that matter SEC schools.. with an average margin of victory of near 20+

Disagree. USC's defense isn't the best in history as reported. They gave up 17 to a shitty big 10 team in one half. I know the game was out of reach - that should make it EASIER to play defense, yet they still tried to allow a backdoor cover like a bunch of cockhounds. I think Florida beats them with basically the same game plan as tonight.

PLus, Florida has God on their side. He's a game changer.

USC would beat Florida by 7 on a neutral field!

Probably true if they played today... Of course, they would be playing for #2 still.... Utah would work either team if played TODAY......

UTAH IMO was clicking all the way while these other "TOP 5" were not even close to their potential during the bowl games.... That's why I am stating Utah would win TODAY (or anytime during this bowl season actually).... I believe Utah is #1 and may get voted that way in the AP poll. I hope so; then maybe we can move forward on some playoff type system and drop the money involvement....

Utah is the only undefeated team so they should be #1? I like this Utes team. I didn't realize the speed they have on D. I would love to see Utah/USC or Utah/Florida.

Just being undefeated would not make them #1... But beating 3 top 15 teams this year and one of them a supposed #1 sure helps.... Going to the BIG HOUSE and winning this year should help.... And beating the #1 DEFENSE in the country this year (TCU) should help.... AND NOT LOSING HELPS.... AND BEATING, NO WHOOPING ORG ST who WHOOPED USC helps.... AND BEATING ALA by more points than FLA helps.... You get the point.

OREGON ST DID NOT WHOOP USC YOU MUST HAVE NOT WATCHED THE GAME! 27-21 IS NOT A WHOOPING!:nono:

NOBODY WHOOPS USC UNDER CARROLL! NOBODY HAS BEAT USC BY MORE THAN 11 POINTS UNDER PETER CARROLL! THERE IS NO PROGRAM THAT CAN EVEN COME CLOSE THAT!

WHOOPING to me being a gambler, is of course ATS!!!!! So yes, you are right not a whooping on the scoreboard S.U. (though that game was ALL ORG ST no matter what USC did; even with that great push at the end of the game.)

But, USC, being a REAL BCS team was not allowed to play UTAH... (Named a BCS TEAM but sure as fuck not allowed to be one!)

these arguments about utah are flawed

put them in ANY major conf and it's highly unlikely they go undefeated...heck most top tier major conf teams cant go undefeated in their conferece.....can utah beat anybody with a month to prepare on a neutral field? yes.....can they perform at that high level every week in a major conf??? doubtful.

utah is a nice team but everybody they are touting as having beaten was really a bit over-rated (byu-tcu) and every other opponent they played in their conf was horrible......and that osu game was not a drubbing, it was a close win, at home, like all their "tough games" this year.

I guess....  I thought the top 10 all this year could have been and was replaced throughout the year.... Again, the top 10 is a BCS biased thing...

USC minus the points

Tebow is the man, but he's a better runner than he is a passer. Florida relies on the run heavily. Too one dimensional to beat USC's defense.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER USC BEING A 41 POINT FAVORITE OVER STANFORD, THEN LOOSING BY ANY NUMBER A WHOOPING? I DO!

I host two sports talk radio shows each week here in Knoxville, TN and this past summer, I attempted on several occasions to get someone from the PAC-10 commisioners office or an SID from USC to come on and discuss the positives and negatives of a playoff system. Long story short, they ducked and dodged and several occations, but both told me that the PAC 10 was not interested in a playoff system and to discuss it would be foolish. They both indicated how happy they were with the current BCS situation and that this was the best scenario available to crown a national champion.

So I prayed and prayed that this season would end just the way it did, with USC being left out and an SEC and a Big 12 team would play for it all. Now all of the sudden, the PAC 10 and USC are up in arms with the current system and it is not fair! The Big 10 and Pac 10 refuse to live in the now and want to hold the Rose Bowl to be the greatest bowl game, and if that is what they want, then don't whine when you watch other programs and other conferences move forward and get better opportunities.

Bottom line, both the Big 10 and Pac 10 need to add a team, add a conference championship game, and vote for some sort of a playoff system like the SEC and ACC want. If you don't want a playoff, then STFU and stop whining when you get left out.

Would have loved to see USC-FLA go at it and I don't think it is a lock that USC would win the game. However, it is what it is and Florida is the true national champion making it three in a row for the mighty SEC.
