until everyone who wants to get in gets used to posting in this thread.
I will pluck from their post those who have used vegas rotation numbers.

A cut and paste will be seen in this thread so you will know
that I got the selections and entered them into tracking board.

Players who want to help out and be tracked
can post your picks
in this designated thread.

No Second half entries
there is usually a separate thread you folks use.

Please use Las Vegas Rotation Numbers

If easier just cut and paste your own thread entries
with rotation number next to the team

Use home team number for totals.

*** Please denote in picks if you are tailing a fellow capper.

We need to denote this to get a true reflection of data entered.

For those who like to weight your picks please use 1-5 *****
Questions and comments welcome.

I hope this proves to be a helpful tool.

Usually us tailers aren't lazy, we are so busy at work that we don't have time to research but still want the action. We appreciate you all.

Ideally poster submit their selections in this thread and I enter data.

Hudson's idea of also entering the rating attached to each pick is a good one.

For that to work in the whole scheme is to have a basic * to ***** star rating.

This way the weight is distributed proportionally.

BGF brought up a great point

OS,
I appreciate the work that went into this idea. On another web site a few years the same concept was developed. Unfortunately, it simply became a summary of that day's posts and provided no real value. Anyone who posted was included in the summary without placing any value on their handicapping expertise, so sometimes it appeared the board had reached consensus on a side or total when there were a ton of cappers (and maybe some first time/last time posters) on one side. This can really skew the distribution.

For example, maybe ten or twelve cappers were on the over in a certain game but Spang and Hawkeye liked the under. The summary gave the appearance that the over was the play. Anyone reading the thread would have to know how strong Spang and Hawkeye are as handicappers to know which side to play.

Just my $.02.

In a near perfect setting those submitting the picks would have *** weight next to the picks and also within their post to the thread their record for the year and something to indicate weather they are hot or cold..[ie] last 5 or 10..some kind of indicator..

Of course if some of the solid cappers choose not to be involved[which is fine..not everybody has the time to do all this stuff]....then the data is actually skewered.

A work in progress which I hope helps in some way..is what it is.

Questions and comments are always welcome and I will take the "Our Gang Tracking Thread" in any direction the buckets forum wants it to go..

Heck it may be the dumpster but at least it's a try.

I have this time on my hands so I figured I would try to help find some winners for all.

875 Valpo/876 Butler Over 121.5 ***

I see in the Our Gang thread where someone was asking about records, so I went through and updated mine. Overall Posted record for the season is 145-124 (54%). Posted record for the last week (Sat. through last night) is 23-11 (68%).

I will admit that I?m superstitious and anytime after I update my record I seem to lose the next couple of days. Hopefully I can break that streak by a nice easy win tonight.
