b/c they brought their 12th man along again

:iagree:

How can Pitt fans take joy in either of the last 2 Super Bowls wins...

Now granted this one was not as bad as the Seattle game, but it was still a joke.

Holmes not being flagged is beyond reproach.

It wasn't the officials that let that guy jog 100 yards for the touchdown. Tackle that slow moving mass of fat and the Cards win. Only the losing team has to find an excuse for a loss. Anything but, "we blew it" is perfectly acceptable. Referees call what they "believe" to be the facts. Instant replay can prove or disprove most of the time but you live with the calls and go on. The Cards shot themselves in the foot too many times to win.

maybe next year?
until the draft now...

They might have been able to tackle him w/o the 2 illegal blocks in the back...not called of course.

How do you miss the ball being used as a prop in the middle of the endzone after a TD??? That is not a judgement call. He used the ball as a prop. That is a penalty & that is a fact. How could not one ref see that? Quite convenient.

Not at all. I dont care either way really.

I had Zona +7, other than that I couldnt give two shits about either team.

I still want it explained how that prop celebration wasnt flagged...it was the 'point of emphasis' this year for ref's & was called religiously this year. But at that crucial time, the ref's just all happen to look the other way.

I was wondering how the refs didn't flag Warner for taking his helmet off in the middle of the field, they must have been looking the other way for this one too.

There could be any number of reasons for that...

There is NO reason that a football prop use flag shouldnt have been thrown.

Good thing for Pitt that they are excused by the refs & dont have to follow no blocking in back rule....wouldnt have had those 7 pts on the board. Then we would have gotten to see the refs really have to work they did back in '05.

Not to mention that IF you want to call it a forward pass and not a fumble you should call intentional grounding as he "meant" to throw it right?

The ball never came near a reciever and never reached the line of scrimage.

Losing teams ALWAYS blame the refs, some things never change. The best team won, plain and simple.

well the game is over and there is nothing that can be changed now, congrats to both teams and especially the steelers for having the toughest schedule and yet win the SB. Great year guys!

Nope. Cant throw a flag for IG when the QB is hit as he throws it.

Ok, the refs must has missed Fitzgerald running about 30 yards out of bounds/down the sideline to try and tackle Harrison, end result the same but a foul is a foul.

If anyone would have thought Pittsburgh would have won the SB this year before the season I would have said you were smoking some good stuff. Hell, the o/u was only 9 games. They had crazy schedule and piss poor offensive line. Awesome season and an even better SB....very fun to watch.

Congrats to you 3" for picking Arizona correctly. I had Pittsburgh to win SB before conference championships, -3.5, and -6 therefore netted out some money, and a win is a win for me too.

Good game Steelers. We played great but made a couple too many poor plays at crucial times. That halftime play still makes me nauseaus, but it was our mistake and nobody else's. We still fought back and had the opportunity to win. We couldn't do what Super Bowl winning teams do in those last 2 minutes and that's that.

AP:

In case you missed it ? ahem, NFL officials ? here's an AP photo (and video, while it still lasts) of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes doing an imitation of LeBron James' "chalk throw" after haulin' in Sunday's ridiculous game-winning touchdown.

ept_sports_nba_experts-699495-1233602174.jpg

According to some astute BDL readers, ESPN was completely confused by the touchdown celebration. Cris Carter said Holmes was putting hot sauce on a rabbit. (And then tossing it in the air? Huh?) Another talking head went with ketchup as his condiment of choice. (In honor of Pittsburgh's Heinz Field, you see.)

Nope and nope. NBA freaks know Holmes was just showing love to LeBron's chalk routine.
