We were hearing some of this nonsense before this game...........

What a joke they turned out to be.........they were getting rolled all over the field play after play..............

Not even in the same breath as the Ravens and Bear editions.........

Mav, 1st of all not a Pitt fan but I have to diagree. Look at stats for the first 3 Quarters Pitt dominated and score was 20 to 7 at that point. 4th Quarter Pitt dropped safeties back in some sort of a modified prevent Defense as to not lose the game, and almost did. That saved Az backers!!! Pitt was lucky to win I thought! Pitt played the toughest schedule this year in the NFL and look what the D did for the entire year. They were very good!

The Cards really didn't do anything until the last 10 mins of the game if you think about it. The pick by Harrison, that drive was deep bc of the INT from Ben.......then you play pervent up 20-7 and you get chewed apart!!

the cards had a fairly long td drive in the 2q

pitt really didnt do anything on offense outside of the 1q

heading into the game winning drive it was 390 yards to 215 yards for az......from my perspective, az was able to move on pit at will when they decided to pick up the pace and go 3-4 wides as opposed to their wasted first quarter trying to go 2 backs and a tight end.

look at the entire year, not one game, stats back it up....

youre right, stats back it up

1985 Bears- 4 shutouts

2000 Ravens- 4 shutouts

2008 Steelers- 1 shutout

the playoff stats for these 3 paint the clearer picture..........

1985 Bears- (3 games) 3.3 pts/gm, 192.3 yds/gm

2000 Ravens- (4 games) 5.8 pts/gm, 232.5 yds/gm

2008 Steelers- (3 games) 20.3 pts/gm, 298.3 yds/gm

Dice, i wasn't comparing the pitt D to the bears and ravens, I was just stating based on the year the steelers D had (based on stats).

also, this rationale of thought is flawed, especially for the year of 85, since offences today are so much different than offences back in the day.
can't compare apples and oranges.
