LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP)?Phil Turner scored a career-high 18 points to lead four Mississippi State players in double figures as the Bulldogs handed Kentucky its third straight loss, 66-57, on Tuesday.

Ravern Johnson added 17 points, Barry Stewart scored 13 and Dee Bost had 10 points and four assists as the Bulldogs (15-7, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) won at Rupp Arena for the first time in 14 years.

Jodie Meeks scored 15 points and Patrick Patterson added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Wildcats (16-7, 5-3), who never led and struggled to find offensive rhythm against Mississippi State?s quick four-guard lineup and center Jarvis Varnado.
The reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year shook off foul trouble to finish with six points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks as the Bulldogs held Kentucky to 36 percent shooting from the floor

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP)?Evan Turner scored six of his 26 points in overtime, leading Ohio State past No. 12 Purdue 80-72 on Tuesday night to end the Boilermakers? six-game winning streak.

William Buford had 22 points and fellow freshman B.J. Mullens added 17 as the Buckeyes (16-5, 6-4 Big Ten) won their third straight while shooting 60 percent from the field.

Purdue (17-5, 6-3), which needed a win to share the Big Ten lead with No. 13 Michigan State, had not permitted an opponent to shoot better than 43 percent all season.

JaJuan Johnson scored a career-high 30 points and Keaton Grant added 14 for Purdue, which was without third-leading scorer Robbie Hummel, who has a hairline fracture in his back. He was cleared to play but never left the bench.

The Buckeyes pulled away in the overtime with an 8-0 run?four of the points from Turner

Jessie Sapp scored 11 points and Georgetown?s defense forced 21 turnovers in a 57-47 victory over Rutgers on Tuesday night, ending the Hoyas? five-game losing streak.

Sapp, in a slump since mid-December, shot 4-for-5 from the field. Greg Monroe added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Hoyas, who took the lead for good with an 11-2 spurt late in the first half and pulled away with a 16-5 run after halftime.

The Hoyas (13-8, 4-6 Big East Conference) were in the Top 10 last month, but their longest skid since 2005 dropped them out of the rankings. Rutgers (10-13, 1-9) again proved the perfect salve: The Hoyas have won seven straight in the series.

Mike Rosario scored 20 points for Rutgers, which had Corey Chandler and Hamady Ndiaye back in the starting lineup. They were subs in Saturday?s win over DePaul as punishment for being late for team functions---------------------------------------------------

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP)?Wayne Ellington scored a season-high 34 points and No. 3 North Carolina hit a season-best 16 3-pointers in its sixth straight victory, a 108-91 rout of Maryland on Tuesday night.

Tyler Hansbrough had 24 points and Ty Lawson added 21 for the Tar Heels (20-2, 6-2). The Atlantic Coast Conference?s hottest team used some early long-distance touch to clinch their fifth 20-win season under Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams.

Danny Green finished with 16 points for North Carolina, which hit 11 of its first 14 attempts from behind the arc and finished one 3-pointer shy of the school record set against Florida State in 1995.

Freshman Sean Mosley scored a season-high 19 points, Cliff Tucker added 18 and Greivis Vasquez scored 13 for the Terrapins (14-8, 3-5).
