Just kidding.

Capping the execuive pay for companies who have recevied federal funds is an absolutely GREAT move!

Can't imagine anyone arguing against this one.

I agree banks that took handouts from the gov't need to adhere to rules

My problem is when he says all public companies CEO'Presidents can't make over a certain amount, it will happen given time, he is nothing more than a socialist/marxist right out of the book. Obama is one arrogant prick right now letting everyone know he won, his time will come when he is voted out in 2012

yeah, he'll be gone and then we can all go back to how great it was during the last republican administration. What we need is to find a new country to invade and more weapons to invest technology in. Let's go after Canda next.

Settle down, Weasel - if you read the detailed ideas beneath the line you cherry-picked you will see that they aren't talking about salary caps, but rather restrictions on selling stocks and more influence of shareholders in compensation decisions. ...Not exactly socialism.

who the f-ck are "they" to tell private companies that don`t take gov`t hand-outs how much they can earn and how much compensation they`re allowed to pay their top level talent?...

they`re not setting a minimum wage....they`re saying you can`t earn over a certain amount without our say so....

"we`ll tell you what your hard work will yield"...

that IS socialism...and it breeds complacency and kills motivation and ingenuity......

who`s next?...where does it end?...who`s the arbiter?...

congress?...with their track record?...

a community organizer?...

this woman?...who thinks that that 500 million people lose jobs each and every month that this pork-barrel stimulus isn`t shoved down out throats?(watch the videos...she said it twice...and hesitated to think about it the second time...a bag of chock blocks would own her in a current affairs quiz).......

I know that you and your idiot cohorts love to rail against shit like the "fairness" doctorine, reperations, and Michelle smoking crack in the white house, but get a fucking grip on your absurd insanity. Nobody is advocating any of this shit. OBama's statement said that Americans are not ashamed of success. Americans have no problem with rewarding success. What Americans will not support is rewarding failure with massive bonuses.

But don't worry gw, he will still reward your failure by keeping those disability checks flowing. And Hedgehog will always have people late on their credit cards that he can call, so it will all work out for you guys.

wow, 5mil a month in the George Bush economy (or after a few weeks I guess its now OBama's)

I guess that "5mil" thing was a typo, or maybe you are fucking nuts.

Anyway, how is your industry gw? How is business? What are you seeing out there? What is it you do again?

you didn't read what i wrote. they aren't proposing salary restrictions - they are talking about restrictions on stock selling and more accountability to shareholders.

what does the $500,000 limit mean?...is that not a salary restriction?...

i don`t like it but i can live with it if these companies are sucking the government tit...

but, it`s downright unacceptable for """any restrictions to be put on solvent companies that aren`t drinking from the public trough"""....

that`s not the function of government to overstep their bounds...that`s socialism...it`s not necessary...

anyhoo, the way i read it,there are some very large loopholes left in this "plan" so that these "limitations" can be waived....

so,if this is the case,is obama just laying out a smokescreen to placate the drones that are howling for these fat cats` hides?...

the details....we don`t know all the details yet..

Ugggh, yes the 500k is the limit for those who take the TARP.. The part you seemed to have a problem with was the suggestion about OTHER restrictions concerning stocks and shareholders that could end up applying to everyone. It does not say anyting about salary restrictions for companies not receiving TARP.. I know you want it to so you can keep crying wolf, but it doesn't say anything like that.

Saw a very short clip (Note: this could be a cherry picked clip) of Obama saying that now we want to "nit-pick" the stimulus package. He is saying it to point out that picking apart the package is a negative thing.

Isn't that EXACTLY what we should be doing? If we can "nit-pick" out all of the same old bullshit pork, shouldn't we? Wouldn't that make the stimulus package that much stronger and supported from all sides?

Please explain why nit-picking this large of a stimulus package that is trying to be forced through is a bad thing.
