According to Rivals.com, 10 of the 12 SEC schools are in the top 25 list of recruiting classes.

All computer generated recruiting rankings are skewed towards teams that over sign. SEC teams sign so many marginal kids that many of them don't qualify. To compensate they sign way too many kids than they have scholarships. A better way to evaluate classes is average stars.

Bama signed 32 players last year and 27 this year. Ole Miss signed 37 yesterday. It's a mockery.

Actually, Rivals rankings rely HEAVILY on top 20 recruits in a class.

But how many of those "top 20" recruits actually make it to campus? I'd love to see these rankings after we find out which kids actually enroll. Schools like Arky, Ole Miss, Miss St and Auburn wouldn't sniff the top 25.

The top of the SEC is killing it on the recruiting trail right now, no doubt. But the middle of the pack schools are not recruiting as well as the rankings would have you believe.

Recruiting ranking are overrated for the most part. If you look back, many 2 and 3 star players are in the NFL, while many 5 star players never pan out even in college. The thing that these service miss in mu opinion is the fact that you cannot measure intangibles and often overlook maturity...

To continue to stir the shit.... :)

Going by average star ranking, Michigan would have slipped from 7th to 10th in the Rivals rankings.

...and Georgia would have gone from 9th to 4th

Who cares... ND has had three top ten (Rivals and Scout) classes in a row and we still suck.

Ratings of recruits are biased towards the major programs. For some odd reason which has nothing to do with on-field success, ND still carries a big stick in that regard.

ND's kids tend to come from over hyped, high profile private school programs. They garner lots of attention from the recruiting services, but are more often than not overrated.

As I said above, the TOP of the SEC is doing great, probably better than ever. But this garbage of Ole Miss, Arky, Auburn, etc being in the top 25 is an out and out joke. Half of their signees don't have a prayer of making it to campus.

Rumor started a couple of years ago and just about every significant recruit that ND had gotten in the last two years has dropped post commitment.

Ohio but not a Buckeye
Already got my bet on TEXAS +750 to win it all next year.

The SEC is too loaded, and it'll be its own downfall to why they don't take the trophy home.

I think either TEXAS or Oklahoma bring it home this year. BIG 12 will be down compared to this past year.

Ole Miss is a legitimate top 25 team. Can't say the same about the other 2, specificly Arkansas, but you never know.

Ole Miss is a top 25 team. I'm saying their recruiting class isn't top 25 when you consider many of their best signees have no chance of enrolling at Ole Miss next year.

Maybe you're not aware of Ole Miss' credentials. It's academic program would barely pass for a public Magnet high school. :mj06:
