Ok madjackers......I have a 1.15 kilogram (2.5 pounds) frozen chicken and want to eat it. Problem is I have no idea how to cook it in an oven:mj07:

Ok so what can I say, I am not a cook. I can do some stuff over an open flame, but considering it is snowing like crazy out there I ain't using no open flame. So here lies the problem, I don't know what to do:shrug:

So how long should it take to defrost it?

Once defrosted from the freezer, what the hell do I do?

Nothing fancy just want to cook the damn thing.

How long in Oven?

Should I just put it in a big pot, should I add anything to the pot? Again, I just want to cook the damn thing, I'll add some garlic and stuff when it is done.

So any madjackers cook a chicken in the oven? I never have. And once I put this bad boy in the oven, what temp. do I cook it at?

Appreciate the help, got about 4 of these chickens in the freezer, figure I'd eat em.

Hope I can do this and not dry the chicken out, hate dry chicken:mad:

Between The Hedges
-Thaw/Brine in salt water
-Dry and apply olive oil and preffered spices
-Shove a beer up its ass
-Take one rack out of the oven and stand bird up
-Cook at 350 for about 1:15 or until 165 degrees
-Carfully remove beer can and enjoy

ok.....thawing in salt water right now, not sure how long it will take to thaw but when done I will do what ya say.

Oh and when you say "put a can in its ass" you are saying that to make the chicken stand up in the oven correct? I am assuming you are saying no pot/pan...just stick the bird standing up on some tin foil right? Or not even tin foil, just stand it up on the rack?

Just hope I can get the bird to stand up....don't want a can exploding on me:142smilie

Thanks UGA:)

Oh and any other suggestions are appreciated:)

Going to follow UGA directions.....but did find this:

There is really no one way, do it how you think it will turn out best. I just know that this is an easy way to get a good tasting, moist bird. And yes it may be more difficult without the stand, but with only a 2 lb chicken I would think the can would make it stand:shrug:

Wife is cooking a chicken casserole from a recipe right now. It smells great! I'll take a picture of it when it comes out of oven.

I hope the chicken fits in the oven....I think it will.....maybe it needs some "training wheels" so he won't fall over:142smilie

I will have to check from time to time to make sure he doesn't fall over:)

1.5 cup whipped cream
3 chicken breasts
2 cups of shredded cheese
flour
2 eggs

Get a baking dish and spray it. Cover the bottom with some of the shredded cheese. Salt and whip the eggs. Slice chicken breasts into pieces. Put them in the flour laying them over the cheese. Fresh pepper on top along with more shredded cheese. Put eggs and everything else in, combining all ingredients. Put into casserole dish and cover top with aluminum foil. Bake for 45 minutes. It was pretty good with the bud light I'm drinking right now.
