How do LSU & Butler suddenly become 8 & 9 seeds? Both teams should be a 5 or 6 seed at the worst.

Could someone explain how Utah is a #5 seed? I would have them far lower.

How is Utah State a #11 seed? Did the selection committee mean to put Utah State @ #5 and Utah @ #11... this would make more sense.

Memphis or Duke were more deserving of a #1 seed than UConn. You have to be punished a little bit for losing in the 1st round of your conference tourney.

Arizona shouldn't be in the tournament... complete and utter bs. I also don't know how you let 7 teams make the tourney from the Big 10... the Big 10 sucks! Minnesota and Wisky probably should be in the NIT and Creighton and St. Mary's should be in the NCAA tourney.

Boston College a 7 seed? Nice seeding with a RPI of 59...

Also, how are Illinois and Purdue both 5 seeds despite the fact Purdue just crushed Illannoy and won the Big 10 tourney?

A little surprised by Utah getting a 5 seed, however;
They did beat LSU by 30 earlier this year. I'm sure those head to head matchups come into play. I can't find a notable non-conference win for LSU.
lost by 30 at Utah
lost by 11 at Texas a-m
lost by 10 at home to Xavier.

Minnesota's win againt Lousiville is what got them in. Agree that Wisconsin blows though.

good luck to you

How is Western Kentucky a 12 seed and Mississippi State a 13 seed? State beat them by 28 earlier this year

Easiest for the committee, to leave two 5's open
Since it was the last game of the conf tourneys.

My guess, most likely would have been different if
it was an early game.

did either creighton or st marys beat anybody in the top 50 rpi?

dont think so.

sorry, the mid majors were horrible this year, so accumulating a bloated record against nothing but mid-majors is worthless.

now, they might have been next in line with sdsu, but sc, miss st, clev st, temple took their bids

Linemakers share your sentiment. Not too often you see a 12 seed favored over a 5.

St Mary's beat San Diego State and Utah State - 32 and 24 rpi respectively.

Creighton beat Dayton (29) and Illinois State (48), George Mason (50)

World beating? But your facts were wrong.

Of course they could ahve beaten Arizona but that wouldnt have even been a top 60 victory so i guess to you irrelevant.

None of the teams can gripe but Zona is very suspect under the usual criteria. Lost 5 of last 6, didnt beat anybody worth a shit on the road-the best road win is Oregon State of the lovely 2-7 road conference record. Wash and Kansas were good wins- 2-3 months ago.

RPI of 62 should never be good enough.

Utah has an RPI of 9 - they would argue they should be seeded higher.Their SOS was 22. Beat Gonzaga. Beat LSU by 30. Had a real bad loss to Idaho State.

Utah State with RPI of 24 but was in danger of even getting in had it lost its tournament. Had only 2 Top 100 wins all year (Utah and Nevada).

So naturally I have Utah losing and Utah State winning in the first round. LOL.

Arizona's best win away from McKale was against Gonzaga on a neutral floor. . . everyone seems to focus on their lousy road record and forget about the neutral win over the Zags.

You can name off every "great" win that Creighton and St. Mary's had but Arizona had better wins over better teams.

Also, would Arizona have lost by 24 to Illinois State like Creighton in their final game? No.

Would Arizona have lost by 25 to the Zags like St. Marys? Well, we already know what happened in that game.

Results like those should never be good enough and it wasn't. By default, Arizona gets the nod and for good reason.

And Zona playing Zaga in Phoenix may technically be a "neutral" game but to claim tyhat is prretty disingenuous. Texas playing Nova at whatever that arena is in Philly was considered neutral as well, as was Cuse beating Kansas in KC and Memphis beating Zaga in Seattle. It's ajoke.

mid major. mid-major
mid-major, mid-major, mid-major

and the mid-majors sucked this year.

arizona beat gonzaga on a neutral court
st mary's lost to gonzaga at home, road and blow out on a neutral court (which i think did them in)

st mary's squeaked by sdsu
arizona beat sdsu

the wins were 2-3 months ago? hmm, well last i checked the season is 4.5 months and teams should be invited on their SEASON not thier last 10 games which became a bs reason to invite someone (we'll disregard 67% of your season and focus on 33% of your season, vs your conf opponents only since your ooc games were actualy 3-4 months ago)

creighton......the mvc sucked. they beat nobody. the werent as deserving as sdsu or st marys anyway.

at the end of the day it's a beauty pagent....i still argue that arizona's resume was even better than minn + wisc who got in and were seeded similar/higher

dont worry, we likely wont be in next year and you all can rejoice then....unless calapari comes with his freshman class!

Sun,

If anything, playing in Phoenix was less "neutral" for Arizona and more like a home game for the Zags! Yeah, I'm reaching a little but certainly you can understand the difference of playing in Tucson where everyone loves you or in Phoenix where everyone hates you with a passion!

Sure, the Cats didn't have to take a plane to cover the 2 hour drive to Phoenix but they certainly were not playing in their backyard.

Bullshit. I was there. It was a home game for Arizona. There's probably more UofA alums in Phoenix than in Tucson. The arena was entirely pro-Arizona.

Well then I stand corrected because I wasn't at the game. From what I had heard (again, not at the game so not sure of anything), it was pro-ASU.

Didn't mean to come off harsh. But it was defintely a pro-Arizona crowd. Either way, it was an impressive win.
