1-3 yesterday making it 2-4 for the week. Today the real games take place:

LSU -2 for 6 units - WIN - Stevens has done a good job this year at Butler, but today everyone sees that this Butler squad isn't close to what they were in prior years. LSU creates some interesting match-up issues. Mitchell and Johnson should handle Matt Howard pretty easily, and Butler lacks a true PG and that will be exposed today.

VCU/UCLA Under 137 for 3 units - WIN - VCU is definitely capable of playing a faster paced game, but they are going to want to run with UCLA. They are going to make sure each possession is valued and try to get the most out of it. UCLA hasn't had the defense they've been known in the past but with about a week to prep for this one, they'll shut them down. Also the Under in 1st and 2nd round games for UCLA under Howland has hit at a crazy rate. They simply lock it down against lesser opponents.

Washington -6 for 3 units - WIN - Miss. St. is going to suffer a similar fate to Georgia last year. Nice run in the conference tourney, but not up to par in the first round. Varnado did a great SEC tourney for Miss. St., but Brockman and Pondexter will handle him and the Huskie guards are definitely better.

Akron +13.5 for 2 units - WIN - Zags get a little scare in the first round from the Zips. Akron plays enough D and will attempt to slow the pace down enough that will make it hard for Gonzaga to ever truly pull away.

Notre Dame -5 for 3 units - LOSS - an overlooked NIT matchup. ND starting to heat up a bit. Playing at home and against a New Mexico club that hasn't been defending the perimeter well equals a pretty easy win here for the Irish.

GL Guys.

halftime play:

CS Northridge/Memphis Over 71 2H for 2 units - WIN - tons of fouls in this one so refs likely to keep that up. Memphis will be looking to run and put away these guys, so this one should be a track meet with plenty of scoring opportunities the rest of the way.

didn't get the bet confirmed quick enough but I'm not going to worry about a half point.

Laslo - thanks man. Feel some good karma with you making your first post in here.

damn, I like the UNDER...I think Memphis slows it down tremendosly and steps up on defense because of the foul trouble...looks like I'm on the opposite side as the public, eek!

never thought 2 guys posting in one thread woudl constitue the "public" side of things, but oh well.

2-0 to start off on a very good note.

small half time play:

Cal -1 2H for 1 unit - LOSS - extremely cold Cal has to warm up don't they? Cal is also killing them on the boards. They fought back to get in it and should be able to do this.

one more small play for the day:

Illini -5.5 2H for 1 unit - LOSS - they should continue to claw back and make this one a close game. Probably not win, but considering how cold they are and how Weber can actually make in-game adjustments, I'll take them +3 for the game.
