Fly into San Fran and drive down to Carmel. Freaking love that area.

Track down the Tickle Pink Inn in Carmel on the web. Certain rooms overlook the Pacific, fireplace inside, sweet action beds.

Come back up to San Fran and catch a Giants game and some serious shopping at Union Square. Of course there's the Wharf and Alcatraz. Lord, way too much to do in that area.

Wine country close by as well.

Let me know if you need more info.

Wife and I plan on getting out there annually again soon.

Just my .02

Congrats on the tix.

both of those places are on the possible list. are there any specifics about sd that would make it more attractive vs SF, i suspect SD is warmer.

are there any nearby towns - 15-20 min drive time that would be also good choices close to these 2 cities ?

btw, i appreciate the carmel idea, i will look it up.

FWIW I would fly in to Reno then drive over to Lake Tahoe. San Francisco is only about 3 or 4 hours away. NAPA Valley is about 140 miles away. How long you plan on staying?

looks like you have the southeast covered already..
i'd agree with the above folks and do san diego or monterey.

newport, RI is kind of a nice spot to do a weekend getaway as well.
fly in to providence, ri and jump the bridge and yer all set.
