What is your opinion when you have a game starting out(1st inning) like Milw/Chic and a guy on second and your hitter has a 2-1 count, and NO outs? Milw elects to sacrifice him over and forfeit an out...I just don't get it!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 It is the first inning
#2 The guy is already in scoring position.
#3 Wouldn't you rather try and drive the ball or get a hit with the count in your favor.

#4 Your actually bailing out the pitcher.
#5 Your at home not on the road trying to quiet the crowd.

Go for the big inning, don't give up outs when your in control with the count,I hate this type of ball and will have to remember the Brewers approach....Now I know there are times you want to advance the runner, even from 2nd but with no outs and the TOP of your order, come on.These guys are at the top of the order for a reason,at least I would hope so.Leave the sacrificing for the bottom of the order you FUKs.

Didn't see it but a lot of hitters will take that opportunity to try and get a hit by bunting, worst case scenario you move the runner. Even when obviously trying to bunt for a hit the scorekeeper will give them the sac.

If they did call it from the bench it usually means the manager thinks runs are gonna be hard to come by in the game.

Many managers agree with you completely though.
