Updated Record: 34-27 for +25.55 units

Not much out there that I liked, so only one small play today. Honestly when looking at the pitching match-ups for Saturday and Sunday, nothing sticks out at me so likely won?t have many plays at all this weekend.

North Carolina -175 (vs. Miami) for 2 units ? the offenses and bullpens are pretty even with maybe the slightest of edges going to UNC in both categories. Starting pitching is the big deciding factor in this one. Junior Alex White starts for UNC. White has a 3.67 ERA; 1.30 WHIP; .238 opponents avg. and 62 K?s in 54 IP. He has pitched really well in his last two outings (4 ER; 17 K?s over 16 1/3 IP) against two very powerful offenses (FSU and GaTech). White is bouncing back from a bad start to the season and finally performing like the lofty status that was lumped on him at the beginning of the year. Miami counters with Sophomore Chris Hernandez. Hernandez has a 5.89 ERA: 1.44 WHIP; .292 opponents avg. and 51 K?s in 47 1/3 IP. Hernandez simply hasn?t performed well all season and could be an issue as UNC has been producing some runs lately.

GL guys.

Two small plays today:

Georgia -165 (vs. Arkansas) for 2 units - 12:00 cst game. Georgia won last night and should be able to win pretty handily tonight. Offensively Georgia has a big advantage as they are one of the more proficient teams in the country. Starting pitcher favors Georgia too. They send lefty Alex McRee. McRee has a 2.30 ERA; 1.28 WHIP; .239 opponents avg. and 31 K's in 31 1/3 IP. Arkansas counters with TJ Forrest. Forrest has a 5.02 ERA; 1.49 WHIP; .271 opponents avg. and 32 K's in 37 2/3 IP. In his last two starts Forrest has struggled against the good offenses of South Carolina and Vandy. Think similar struggles will occur for him today.

Oklahoma State -105 (vs. Baylor) for 1 unit - The offenses and bullpens are pretty even between these clubs. This one is maily on starting pitching. Cowboys send Tyler Lyons to the mound. Lyons has a 3.78 ERA; 1.30 WHIP; .266 opponents avg. and 34 K's in 32 2/3 IP. Baylor starts normal rightfielder Andrew Miller. Miller has some good stats in 2.48 ERA; 1.19 WHIP; .204 opponents avg. and 40 K's in 32 2/3 IP. Miller's work has been a few mid-week starts and some long relief. The Cowboys have a decent enough offense that should be able to get to him.

GL guys.

one play today:

Ole Miss -115 (@ Florida) for 4 units - going with the Rebels due to the big starting pitching advantage. Ole Miss' Sunday starter is All-american closer Scott Bittle. Bittle has a 1.93 ERA; 1.01 WHIP; .159 opponents avg. and 49 K's in 32 2/3 IP. Florida hasn't named a starter but no matter who they throw, it isn't going to match Bittle.
