Call me crazy but does this have anything to do with Brett Favre being done???? :mj07:

Madden was a guy that I never really could figure out if I liked or hated.

Oh well.:sadwave:

I liked Madden alot and will be sorry not to hear him call games anymore.

At 73 its time. He does not fly so he has to ride his bus around the country. That gets old like he is.

Time to enjoy the time he has left.

Money will not help him now.

I love Madden. Miss the days when he would do the games with Summerall on Sunday. Sunday/Monday night football just not what it used to be and hasn't been for a long time.

Monday night football really has lost its pizazz

I hate to say this because I didnt really care for him, but when Howard Cosell was on Monday night football , they had something going.

Just the whole feel of the night game and stadiums.

Compare that with Dennis Miller in the booth.

Yikes :scared

Colin Cowherd just interviewed Al Michaels and he said Cris Collinsworth will step in for Madden, at least that is the plan for now:00hour

Scott...I know I'm in the minority, but I liked Dennis Miller in the booth. Just b/c I like him and that it was something unique/different, which is what MNF is all about.

I realize the days of Cosell are better...I also am not a big fan of Cosell but as a kid, MNF was great for so many reasons.

Try comparing Dennis Miller with Kornheiser....to me its basically unwatchable now...

I liked Dennis Miller as well only because he brought more of a fans angle to the booth than a breakdown the game guy.
I think Michaels liked him as well, but knew it wasn't working.
Kornheiser tries to be a guy who knows football but also does comedy. I like PTI but he is neither insightful or funny in the booth.

kegray1, I love the concept of PTI and still watch it sometimes. Really liked it the first few weeks and then just got where I can't stand Kornheiser or Wilbon. I can tolerate PTI but Kornheiser has completely ruined whatever I still liked about MNF.

The other thing that has hurt MNF is simply the amount of games on every week. It used to be more like an extra game after the weekend was over, something to look forward to while getting through Monday back to school or work.

Now there's football almost every day of the week along with the internet and ncaa/nfl packages....theres a lot of reasons why its not what it used to be.
