Did they hand out the trophy yet?

Pretty funny how all the UK fans think they are back on the same level as Carolina. Delusional much. Gotta play games to get wins first.

I Didnt see the raising of the banner in this thread....just a couple guys happy that NOW the team should be respectable and talented again, since Tubby left UK bball has been a letdown IMO, sunny days in the horizon is ALL I am happy for. Thx for your support though:sadwave:

actually other then lettins Saul(his son--spelling?) on the team and logging majorinutes I liked tubby very much, didn't exactly recruit great or I should say GET great talent but IMO he was a solid coach and I always rooted for him since he let to b honest, this Gillespie character was where I drew my line, to me didn't deserve or understand what UK bball is really all about, the job was bigger then the man for billy. I'm taking it there's alot of blame that got pushed on tubby for the decline in the bball program? I wouldn't agree...he had a rough time gaining 100% support and did what he could do with guys like Jewels(WTF happen to this guy?:mj07: ) and the rest of that gang that was around then.

there were a plethora of Tubby haters. I've almost been run off another board because I liked Tubby and said a few times others didn't because he is black. kurby That's painfully obvious with some people though. I know I've been able to do a lot of "I told you so"'s since the BG debacle!

What's up with the athletic department calling a press conference at 10 am on a Saturday of a holiday weekend... AND being so tight-lipped about what they are announcing.

My guess: Joker will now be the head coach

I guess you've already seen, but Jeremy Jarmon (who already is third all time in UK history for sacks) has been declared ineligible for his senior season for testing positive for a banned substance. Whatever the substance was, he bought it otc at GNC as a supplement to help him with injury healing. This is where the rules don't work. :sadwave:

I had to paste one of the comments in that link sixfive posted, it is beyond classic.

"Then: he takes UMASS to the final four, then skates out of town just ahead of the NCAA to pursue his "dream" of coaching in the NBA.

Now, he takes Memphis to the Finals then skates out of town just ahead of the NCAA to pursue his "dream" of coaching at KY.

Having Cal for a coach is like hooking up with the best looking woman in the bar for a long weekend of sex and booze. Then you wake up in a motel room bathtub full of ice, with a message scrawled in lipstick: "CALL 911, YOUR KIDNEY HAS BEEN REMOVED."

So it was Calapari that took the SAT? Or he was directly responsible for the kid (Rose) not taking it?
I didnt see any of that in the article......

"We are confident that Coach Calipari was not involved in any way," Todd said. "He was very open with us about what he was aware of at that particular time, and since this is an issue between the University of Memphis and the NCAA and not a UK issue, we will not be commenting further on anything related to this situation."

The alleged violations occurred under Calipari, who left March 31 to take over at Kentucky. Calipari was told by the NCAA in a letter that he was not at risk of being charged with any violations in the case, according to a statement by Kentucky.

Calipari said in the statement that he would fully cooperate with the NCAA's hearing and had no further comment.
Lets keep an eye on HOW IT AFFECTS KENTUCKY BAKETBALL......my opinion it wont AT ALL!! Since you guys have Calapari as guilty already I guess UK should forfeit the season ahead:shrug: I know its hard to fathom Kentucky with LOADS of talent....but get use to it!!!:box2:

I'M from Kentucky but went to UGA. My loyalties lie with both schools.

I will make the same statement I did when UGA hired Jim Harrick.

Get ready to be really good ("good" has different standards at UGA and UK in bball), but also be prepared to spend some time on probation.

I am excited about Calipari, and I hope he decides that he can win at UK legitimately. BUT I will not be surprised if we have great success for the next 5 years and spend the next few recovering from probation.

Alabama football team, but UK basketball team?

IDK, that doesn't make sense to me. I can understand liking schools not in the same state, but I'm baffled how you like 2 different schools in different sports.

Because I live up north in the Philadelphia area, I fell in love with pitinos style of coaching when I started to really pay attention to college hoops, when he was at Kentucky this I fell in love with the program as a whole from watching many of his games. As far as football--well we know being from Philly or the area the only team close enough to support D1 would be temple...and enough said there, so as a young man growing up and watching football games with my best friend who was and is a gators fan, I stumbled upon big ol bad alabama way back when...see most here have interest in a school as they may be alum, have family that is or whatever..myself never attended college worked right out of highschool, started my own business sold that bought a rig and now I work when I want if I want, so my loyalty to 2 schools or 2 states comes more thru rivalries as kids with my friends or mother and sister, in the case of the cowboys steelers household we had as a kid, hope that helps or makes sense for ya' to add to the confusion, remember I said i am from the Philly area....I love the cowboys and celtics as well!!!!
