Updated Season Record: 66-50 for +37.9 units

Thanks Cie for the nice comments yesterday. Yesterday was definitely disappointing. I had 4 units riding on UNC as a nice dog and they couldn?t pull it off despite numerous chances in the first 9 innings. Than the Under in the Texas game gets blown due to walks, errors, wild pitches, and a catcher interference to boot. Oh well, here is what I?m going with for Monday?s games.

Fullerton -230 (vs. Virginia) for 1 unit ? quite a bit of juice on this one, but I just don?t see the Titans going home with their ace All American Daniel Renken on the mound. Renken has a 2.36 ERA; 1.01 WHIP; .202 opponents avg. and 98 K?s in 118 IP. Even more impressive when you consider Fullerton has the #1 SOS this year. Virginia sends Robert Morey to the mound and he has been pretty good this season for the Cavaliers. He has a 3.11 ERA; 1.15 WHIP; .202 opponents avg. and 83 K?s in 63 2/3 IP. Fullerton is by far the most potent offense he will have faced this year as a starter though. I?ve liked watching this Virginia team this year but unfortunately I believe their season ends today.

Fullerton/UVa Under 10.5 for 3 units ? Well my belief of low scoring games didn?t apply to the first two days (though that Texas/USM game shouldn?t have gone over). Despite these two teams having very good offenses, I think this will be a small ball type game. The stats I listed for both starting pitchers show they don?t allow many base runners. I expect a somewhat tight game with both teams looking to sacrifice and move runners over as opposed to swinging away. The loser?s season is done, so they aren?t going to want to squander any opportunities. Not much of a wind today in Omaha so the ball park should be able to contain most balls also.

LSU -210 (vs. Arkansas) for 2 units ? another big fav, but I just can?t lay off of this as the pitching edge is too big. Cie Grant mentioned how Louis Coleman completely shut down Arkansas earlier in the year. Coleman is a great pitcher and there is no reason he shouldn?t be able to put up another good performance tonight. He has a 2.74 ERA; 0.97 WHIP; .216 opponents avg. and 125 K?s in 115 IP this season. In the post-season he has faced 3 really good offenses in South Carolina, Minnesota and Rice, and has shut each of them down. Arkansas will start Brett Eibner on the mound. Eibner has a 4.61 ERA; 1.32 WHIP; .236 opponents avg. and 66 K?s in 70 1/3 IP. Those are decent stats but he?s been hit hard his last few outings and I expect to see LSU to get to him early. LSU has a distinct advantage between these two clubs offensively and it should show today imo.

GL guys.

Going big on LSU tonight:

Got all these riding:

LSU(Over 6.5 runs) -150 for 150 wins 100.
LSU(-2.5 runs) +125 for 200 wins 250

I see LSU putting up 8+ easy they way they are playing right now.
Ark offense is hot in post season but Coleman is awesome.

kegray good luck.

I'm adding a small play on the Under. Think Coleman really holds them down.

LSU/Ark Under 12 for 2 units

missed both the early plays. Had the Under still until Fullerton scored two meaningless runs in the 9th.

2-2 for -1.3 units today.

Looking at tomorrow's games, UNC is tempting even if at a heavy price. The pitching match-up in the nightcap is a great one with Leake (ASU) vs. Ruffin (Texas).

One play so far, this price is at sportsbetting.com - thegreek has it at -400 already after starting it out at -300 last night.

North Carolina -330 (vs. Southern Miss) for 2 units ? Of all the teams that lost their first game, I felt UNC had the best chance to make it out of the losers bracket to the final pairing. The top of their pitching staff might not be as good as Texas or ASU?s, but they have more overall pitching depth. Today they start Senior Adam Warren. Warren has a 3.23 ERA; 1.24 WHIP; .239 opponents avg. and 97 K?s in 92 IP. He?s been very steady all season and especially his last couple of starts in the post-season. Rarely will he completely lock down a team, but he?s going to hold them to only a couple of runs in most cases. USM counters with Sophomore JR Ballinger. Ballinger has a 3.89 ERA; 1.45 WHIP; .269 opponents avg. and 59 K?s in 83 1/3 IP. Not bad #?s for Ballinger, but in his two most recent outings (vs. GaTech and Florida ? two good offenses) he was hit decently but USM pulled out the W?s by outslugging the opponents. North Carolina should be able to get to him and as seen in Sunday?s game, USM doesn?t have much in their pen.

Will be back later with my thoughts on the night contest.

GL guys.

I'm also going to put a 2 unit bet on UVa -170 for their game tomorrow vs. Arkansas. thegreek has this one up already and I think the line is only going to increase. Will have a full write-up later but I like the Cavaliers pitching depth to get them through another game. May actually increase this play if it stays around this price.

Love this play. UVA is better on paper, plus arky went to the pen early yesterday.

boy this first game is taking forever. One more for today:

ASU/Texas Under 9.5 for 3 units ? two really good pitchers going tonight as both teams have their aces starting. Texas starts Sophomore Chance Ruffin. Ruffin 3.02 ERA; 1.02 WHIP; .220 opponents avg. and 101 K?s in 116 1/3 IP. ASU counters with Junior Mike Leake. Leake?s stats are impeccable with a 1.36 ERA; 0.75 WHIP; .175 opponents avg. and 150 K?s in 132 2/3 IP. Even more impressive considering ASU has the #4 SOS (Texas has the #16). These two clubs were #1 and #2 in the national ranks for ERA for the season, so obviously they have great pens behind the starters. With a day?s rest, everyone is available besides the slotted starters for the next game. Oh and the Texas D I was bragging on has to show up today after that horrid performance on Sunday.
