LVSC Power Rankings - Week 11

Las Vegas Sports Consultants has flip flopped the top-two teams in its latest Major League Baseball Power Rankings, and three American League East teams remain among the top-five squads. Boston overtook rival New York atop the LVSC ratings by winning the first eight head-to-head matchups, and these two teams will not meet again until a three-game series at Yankee Stadium in early August. Tampa Bay has remained the fifth-ranked team after going 7-3 its last 10 games, but the things will start getting tougher for the Rays with a six-game interleague road trip against Colorado and the New York Mets.

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to have the best record in baseball, while enjoying the largest margin of any division leader. Los Angeles, ranked third in the LVSC ratings, will host Oakland for three home games before embarking on a six-game road trip against the Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White Sox. The Dodgers sport a stellar 23-9 home ledger, while going 19-13 on the road.

Defending champion Philadelphia remains the fourth-ranked team according to LVSC despite having a losing home ledger. The Phillies are a dismal 13-16 at home, while going a robust 23-9 on the road. Philadelphia continues a lengthy nine-game homestand with games against Toronto and Baltimore before going on a nine-game road trip versus Tampa Bay, Toronto and Atlanta.

The Chicago Cubs remain the highest-rated National League Central team despite being tied for third place in that division. The Cubs sit three games behind leader Milwaukee, but Chicago is sixth on the LVSC list while the Brewers have dropped from eighth to 12th. St. Louis is back in the NL Central chase after a brief losing skid, and the Cardinals are just a game behind Milwaukee. LVSC dropped St. Louis from sixth to ninth in its updated standings, while Cincinnati is rated way back at 17th despite being right in the middle of the NL Central chase.

Colorado has enjoyed the biggest jump in the LVSC rankings from Week 10 to Week 11, going from 26th to 21. The Rockies are riding an 11-game winning streak, but they still trail Los Angeles by double digits in the NL West standings. Colorado has catapulted to third place in the NL West, are are now one-slot ahead of the 22nd-ranked Arizona Diamondbacks.

Here's a closer look at the Week 11 LVSC Power Rankings.
