Hope a madjacker can help with this. I am able to download some movies/tv shows with no problems. I am using "QuickTime Player" and have never had a problem until recently. Sometimes it works just fine, but then other times it downloads and I only get this weird ass green screen:shrug:

For example........when I downloaded this it worked fine:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7HU7L330

But when I downloaded this I just got a green screen:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GNQX39OO

They are both avi files why the hell does one work and the other doesn't:shrug:

The QuickTime Player I am using is 7.6.2 (518) and am using a MAC

I'd say 70% of the time the download works fine, yet 30% of the time just get a green screen.

Any help is appreciated.

It is a pretty simple fix.
Most avi files are using a codec that is not supported by Media Player.
All you have to do is install the divx codec.

www.divx.com

Media Player will acquire the codec of your computer every time you open an encoded divx file. Which is about 80% of the videos you download.

Not sure what player you normally use with a MAC but the divx codec is not pre-installed on many players.

I have the divx.........yet sometimes I still got the "green screen". The VLC player took care of that:cool:

My Dell laptop has some hardware issues right now with the monitor(Green line going all the way up it) and it is not even 1.5 years old.
I may be dusting off the C64 in the back of the closet. I think it is under the Colecovision, Intellivision, or Atari 1600.

I sometimes get the "green screen" on my Odyssey, sadly the VLC player does not help:142smilie

Good ole Evil. No telling what this is worth way back from 1977 and still works great.
