I agree, dunclock, this heat has been amazing!! Just got the power bill, $518 dollars :scared . I keep it cool though, but that is crazy. Forgot to turn it up while on a week vacation and got home, house was at 66 degrees. I'm sure the ants were happy to be so cool. 
we could use some here in Houston It has been over 100 about 10 days in a row, no rain for about 2 months, its dry as heck, what is causing all the weird weather this year?
was just in houston two weeks ago visiting relatives hedgehog. it was high 90's and sunny everyday, went to galveston twice and checked out Kemah... drank alot too from what I remember...
My in laws live in Seabrook and we go to Kemah several times per year. I haven't been to Galveston since we went on our cruise in Jan. so I am wondering if it has been cleaned up since the hurricane? Its only going to be 101 today with no chance of rain:00x4
the flagship hotel on the water is still sitting there damaged. they are rebuilding murdocks restaurant and gift shop right next to flagship...

The news just reported that we just had the 5th driest June ever for our city, 0.5" for the month!!! That shouldn't even count as rain.
