I am going to Hawai'i 8/5 through 8/15 with wife and kids. SUV rental for the duration is fairly priced, but toddler seats (of which I need 2) cost $15 daily per seat. That's a shade under $400 (tax included) for toddler seat rental. This seems completely unreasonable to me, particularly when I googled toddler seats and found Eddie Bauer seats for $55 each.

Any ideas how to avoid being ripped off? Or, should I stfu and pay the $$$?

Great call, Marine. I just spoke with Continental, and they informed me that baby items like strollers, car seats, etc., do not count towards checked baggage totals. Problem solved:00hour

We took the grandkids strollers right to the boarding area they ask if anything has to be tagged. They tag them and you leave them right at the door to the plane. They are right there for you when you get off. have a great trip!!

Absolutely correct. Airlines are very infant friendly.

So Cal
Got back from Hawaii a couple of weeks ago. Saw a bunch of people taking car seats and couldn't figure out why. Now I know.
