Former NBA all-star Antoine Walker is facing criminal charges over $822,500 in gambling debts to three Las Vegas casinos.

Documents provided today by the Clark County district attorney accuse the 32-year-old Walker of three felony counts of writing bad checks. Prosecutors say he failed to make good on 10 checks totaling $1 million written to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort.

Walker's agent and a lawyer in Las Vegas didn't immediately respond Tuesday to messages.

Prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski told the Las Vegas Sun that Walker repaid $178,000 of the debts incurred last July to January.

Walker last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2008. He was an all-star with the Boston Celtics, and won an NBA championship in 2006 with the Miami Heat.

I was flying into Boston several years ago and Walker was evidently returning from somewhere. The skycap looked at me and said "Do you know who that is?" I wasn't sure so I said no. He said "That's Antoine Walker, the cheapest son of a bitch on the planet. He never tips - not even a dollar."
