should Bud Selig lift his lifetime ban? I think yes, he has paid his dues and I think he realizes he was wrong for gambling on baseball. Maybe he could come back and manage:shrug:

I wouldn't let him back in the game but I don't see why he can't be in the Hall.

Pete can still be found at the nearest dog track, race track, casino and/or bingo parlor. Pete hasn't learned anything and as far as I'm concerned should be banned from baseball forever. I think the first thing he needs to do is realize he has a major problem.

I could give a shit what Rose does now. When he bet on the Reds he broke rule number one. He is not, nor has he ever been, sorry for what he did. He has a sociopathic personality and has treated a ton of people like crap. Remember Doc, I've been in his hometown since 1970.

Pete Rose, was, is and always will be scum of the earth. The only time this dumb, western hills, prick of a hillbilly admitted he bet on baseball was when he could make money off of it. Treated his kids and their mother like dirt.

I have all the empathy for people struggling with addiction. I know many people who have admitted a problem, tried to get help, had regression, as well as success. I care deeply for anyone who has tried to cope with any type of addiction whether its drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, etc.

He is no more of any addict than many that I know who have admitted the problem and tried to work on it. I wouldn't trust this guy as far as I could throw him.

Recovery forever,
Pete Rose never.

I believe he is living in Vegas now. But despite what you may think about him, his numbers mean he should be in there. Ty Cobb was a son of a bitch too and a lot of druggies have been given chances (Steve Howe - 7 or 8 chances). Selig has a hard on about Rose. Selig - the same guy that gave us the all star game tie.

This might be the best of all worlds if at all possible. No way he should be allowed to manage again for all the reasons stated above.

Couldn't they just vote him in the Hall based on what he did just as a player? He was banished while managing and his managing career was not Hall worthy anyway.

I will feel bad when the guy dies still not in and THEN comes the big push to get him in.

I think the Hall is a joke without Pete. As mentioned, far worse has been done. At least he bet on his own team to win. I'm a huge Charlie Hustle fan. :(

It always should have been about what he did between the lines. Pete Rose was a great baseball player. period.

65:

If he had 10 dimes on the Reds in a game and had the under, he may leave Mario Soto in longer than he would have had he not had the under. Million other possible scenarios where his decisions could be affected by his betting on the Reds. The fact that he "claims" to have only bet on the Reds and never against them (which I doubt) really doesn't matter. His financial interest in the game could adversely affect his managerial decisions. Never should be in the hall of fame.

I would vote him in a blink of an eye.
Most hits ever and will never be duplicated.
Played the game like it should be played always hustled and gave his very best.
This is about how he performed and he wasn't an asshole like bonds is.
This is a gambling forum and if he doesn't have support here well fuck me then.

I always thought they will vote him the year after he passes away, so he doesn't reap the enjoyment of being put into the hall. But most definitely should be put in the hall, the could fill a whole wing about him.

if you ever have a chance to go to the hall of fame (beautiful area) & look at all of the offensive stats through the years....you will notice 1 player on many of the lists....that player is shoeless joe jackson...imo he should be there before rose...

i can go either way with rose....based on stats there is no question he belongs in the hall...but he finally admitted after all of his denials that he bet on baseball...& as a manager he was in position to alter the out come of games....am not saying he did or did not but he was in that position & that's a no-no for pro sports...
