So we have a bunch of irate hillbillies. It sure seems that way. Personally I think Obama has made some mistakes. Do I like him? No. Is he better than McCain? Yes. Do they both suck? Yes. What amazes me is how we have all these inbreds up in arms. Where were they during the Bush years? Now they are freaking out. Personally i'm surprised he hasn't got shot. Some of these intellectuals think he is a Nazi. Where did all this hate come from? Obama may or may not be a crook, but he is no worse than what we had the last eight years. No one can argue that. No one.

A poll conducted among NC registered Republicans yesterday showed 50% think Obama is not a citizen, 25% think he is a citizen, 25% are unsure.

In that same poll, 12% of NC Republicans think Hawaii is not part of the USA.

I'd have no problem with those who don't trust Obama or the "government" to implement a public option healthcare plan if their mistrust was based in fact rather than fear. But I doubt ANY of these people disrupting or otherwise voicing their "opinions" in Town Hall meetings across the country have bothered to read any part of HR 3200, which has been available to both Congress and the public since the 14th of July.

And if the members of Congress (on both sides of the isle) were truly interested in working on this bill, they'd have stayed in session through the month of August instead of taking their usual August vacation break. Instead they'll return all rested and relaxed from their summer sabbaticals, protesting that they haven't even had a chance to read the bill and now Obama's trying to "shove it down their throats".

None of the right wing legislators, talk show hosts, columnists, big pharmas, healthcare companies, have anything to do with any of this, right? Organizations like Freedomworks, and people like Rick Scott and his Swift Boat crew, or groups establishing "Operation Embarrass Your Congressman" with websites of talking points, a game plan of disruption, ideas for talking points, signs, etc. No lobbying groups working on anything, right? It's just "da base" that's organized and well-funded.

I'll admit, that's a different tack for you to take, saying "Da-Base" has the finances to make a difference.

You might notice that the First Amendment is alive and well. It's protecting the freedom to express thoughts and ideas, even when the thoughts are irrational and the ideas are based on falsehoods.

Sarah Palin is protected when she lies about "death panels". A moron in PA is protected when he shouts eternal damnation at a Senator. Fox news is protected when it presents slanted news and half-truths. Eevn Sean Hannity is protected when he calls for the murder of every democrat in congress.

Your First Amendment rights are alive and well.

Now I'll ask you - where are your manners, where is your rational discussion, where is your civility, where is your common sense, where is your respect for the right of others to be free from your demagoguery?
