As I sat in Mr. Poon's condo (Friend for 10 years, but I just found out he's been a member at madack's for years - still bitter - but that's another story) on Sunday night and was talking about this game with an ND alum, and he talked about how scared he was of Nevada and their offense and I just wanted to smack 'em. But, then I realized I've been saying the same stuff all summer. But . . . .it's . . . .Friggin'. . . Nevada! and the Reno one. They've got a unique offense, ran up 500+ a game last year, but against Texas Tech, Missouri and Boise (average BCS defenses - but nothing spectacular), they didn't show up scoring 19, 17 and 34 (with a +4 TO margin) against those teams. There's very few teams that are going to be able to get outside on ND's Linebackers this year and Nevada's just not one of them and I can't see their Oline blowing ND off the ball.

On offense, I haven't heard any of the macho talk from Weis about needing a running game, so I expect them to be 3-wide most of the game with the 6'3"+ receivers all running free on crossing routes. I'm assuming that Nevada has seen the film and will be playing 15 yards off from the get-go. Nevada's DE's combined for 20+ sacks last year, but only 1.5 against Tech, Mizzou and Boise.

There's no reason for this game to be close because, again . . . it's freakin' Nevada

Notre Dame -14

It's not the blue field, I just don't think that you can put a redshirt frosh at center, surround him with guys starting for the first time and have any form of an offense.

Boise -3.5

Wisconsin and Purdue are waaaay down. Wish I had a better feel for the MAC teams, but Purdue and Wisky both look untalented and slow

Northern Illinois +16.5
Toledo +10.5

As I said in Cie's thread, Minny wants to run, has the desire to be a power running team, but just doesn't have the line to do it.

:mj06: Good luck BBC

I'm laying off the ND/Nevada game, because Weis has let me down the last couple of years. We have the superior talent at all of the skill positions and Nevada is horrid with their pass defense. Furthermore, I can't wait to see Teo on the field today.

Hopefully, Weis opens it up like he did against Pitt his first year at ND. I'm hoping for big things this season...
