Army -1 over Duke ***** strong play
I said last week this new coach Ellison from Cal Poly has these cadets playing this wishbone a la Air force and Navy....they beat EMU last week 27-14 and ran all over them with there ground attack.Rushed for 4 td's and 300 yds...and they made some mistakes with 10 penalties but didn't turn the ball over...that is the key...for the past 10 years thats what army always did...Armys Plebe Qb's Steelman although his stats were ok at EMU is being called " The One"....there is no question this kid can run the option offense...vs EMU his stats were 2-5 for 8 yds...but EMU contained him but let Armys 2 fullbacks go..Then when they adjusted Army got 2 td's from the slots outside...but Steelman reads defenses and knows when to pitch the ball....Army has 4 or 5 rbs and they can all run.In fact 2nd string Ehie who had one carry last year and fumbled it went in for 1st string Williams..Ehie should start today after what he did...his 1st carry 17 yds,next 9,next 6,next 10 yd td untouched....next drive a 5 yd td... if williams knows that his backup is that good, he might have a pretty big game today...army plays that new double eagle flex defense.It worked vs EMU blitzing,disrupting the offense...its still new and the jury is out on how effective it will be...
Duke has a solid qb in Lewis and has some good wr's.They have no running attack and today its been raining all night and raining now...armys turf is really good so you can't jump all over Army because they run the ball and duke throws it..its a factor and I like it but it won't be a muddy field where duke cannot throw it...conditions do favor Army though...
Army is 1-0...its been 11 years since they have had a winning record..Duke lost at home to Richmond last week 24-16...So if army wins on the road at EMU and Duke loses to a weak team and the line is Army -1, I can see many jumping all over Army for those reasons...but there are other reasons...this wishbone offense will get better and better and like EMU last week Army has fresh legs coming in and will wear down teams like Duke.. they have the offense and if there new defensive schemes work..look out Navy and air force.Strong play for the cadets..

Only thing I'm worried about...North Texas and Army have not won on the same day in decades..so maybe pick one,or maybe parlay both... good luck today...did much better last week...
