PSU -6 Illinois--I think the Illini have quit on Zook. And once they get smacked by the PSU defense Saturday afternoon, they will certainly pack it in. As long as Joe Pa realizes they actually lost last week, I look for a big bounceback for PSU.

WMU +6.5 NIU--Looks like this number may creep to 7 or 7.5. It's never good to be opposite Spang on a MAC game but I'm giving WMU another shot. If the Broncos can handle NIU's running game, they will stay in the game.

BGSU -2.5 Ohio--Even though BG is 1-3, they are a pretty good team. They really screwed up the Marshall game with some missed opportunities and had Missouri on the ropes in the second half. Ohio kept the game close against Tennessee the Vols aren't real strong and the Bobcats did little offensively after the first quarter. I don't think OU has the offense to keep up in this game.

With you on BG but not sure about Western. The Broncs have yet to play to their potential. Thats why you got such a nice number, but I have to wonder if Western just does not have it this year. I think that NIU fell victim to the sandwich spot and overlooked a much improved bunch from Idaho. I think that Kill is too good of a coach to let a sub par performance happen again.

Still, I had that line at 4 or 4' so I think you have a nice number. Should be a close game so maybe the 6' is all you will need.

UC -27 Miami--I hate to lay this big of a number on the road and in a rivalry game, but Miami is just rotten. After only getting 28 in the last two games, I can see Kelly keeping his foot on the accelerator the whole game. A first half bet should be a good play as well.

Any thoughts on the BG total?? 46 just seemed a touch too low to me. I think that the Falcons can score on OU's defense but I am a bit concerned with BG's recent low offensive output.

I like that Ball State total too because I just don't see either team having any interest in stopping the other. BG worries me though because they can easily have a tank job (like the Marshall game).

BG, love the ODU game...way too many points.

Ohio St. -17 IU--Indiana didn't look good weeks one and two against E. Kentucky (a solid FCS program) and WMU (a solid MAC program). In both games they needed a late turnover to ice the game. The next week they handled Akron, a team that is struggling this year. Last week they scored 33 points against a very weak Michigan defense. But, one of the TD's was an 85 yard run and another TD was set up with a 56 yard pass. Following the opening 80 yard drive, the Hoosier offense shot themselves in the foot several times. Michigan's defense was able to hold IU to field goals at crucial points in the game. If the Wolverines can do this, the Buckeyes should be able to completely shut down the Hoosiers. I will be surprised if IU can manage more than two scores.

The big question will be whether OSU can score enough to cover. This is the type of game where the Buckeyes will simply wear down the opponents defense because they will be on the field a lot. Tressell has taken enough shit about his conservative ways that he will take a shot or two downfield to shut people up. OSU could score 31-35 by accident.

I don't see home field being an issue since the Buckeye fans travel very well. To me, this one has a 35-10 look to it.

Spang,
The BG/OU total seems a little low to me as well. BG has struggled to run the ball but OU hasn't stopped the run very well. If they can get the running game going, Sheehan will have some good opportunities through the air as well. It's over or nothing for me. Need to do a little more research before I'm pulling the trigger.

Too late on the BG over since it has moved to 48. I will take some more of Arkansas PB -2 over Alcorn St. and some Michigan +3.5 over Little Brother.
