PLAY OF THE YEAR FOR MY REMAINING BR--
Tennessee Titans -3 Sun@1:00p
Risk US$ 670.00 to win US$ 609.09
Wow, Good Luck Carters!!! Hope you Cash that ticket with me!!!
Over the years I have come to learn that self control and money management are the only ways to consistently win at this. Boy, it used to be that I couldn't wait for football season to come so I could plop down some wagers again. The anticipation ate at me so much that I would even play the darn preseason games for shits and giggles. I found that betting preseason was a losing proposition as it entails many different uncappable "issues".
Then I would bet the first couple of weeks and some times I would do well, and other times lose. The first few weeks are hard to make judgment calls as teams have new players and need to find their groove. The last few weeks of the year are also harder to cap for many intangibles, injuries, spoliers, quitters, and players just looking to avoid injury so as not to screw up their next contract.
Once I figured this out I stopped betting preseason and sit out the first 3-4 weeks of the regular season and just take in what I observe. I drop out 3 weeks before the end of the season too. I have found that since I took this approach, I have had a winning year every time.
Coincidence? Maybe, but I personally think my strategy works, at least as far as my capping goes. Now I isolate 3 plays each week and go over them a number of different ways. I take my best pick and make it the NO BRAINER. Why the No Brainer nomenclature? Well, when all is said and done, I look back at the pick from the persective of the common fan and am able to say, yeah, that makes so much sense to me both by capping it and as a casual fan, its a no brainer.
Anyway, most of the time my No Brainer is a pick against the spread, but I do have teasers mixed in as well. I think I ended the year last year with 4 teasers that all cashed. I didnt keep track, I'm sure the posts can be seached but I believe I won 10 or 11 and lost only 2 of my picks last year. I hope to continue the success this year, but that may be hard to replicate.
Good Luck Carters, I hope you hit that big one. I usually play 2 units each for my No Brainers. I do really think the Titans come out strong and angry. I can not see them losing here. I do like that parlay of yours as well. That would be sweet to get!
