i am going to this game and i am pretty geeked about it, very surprised to see Badgers getting soo many points... they look to be better than Buckeyes at 5-0 with very good wins even on the road.

Big 10 guys please chime in!

Didnt see this before, but just posted about this game. the line was -14 about an hour ago and is now -16, so all you who like WI, should love them now.

I may buy it back to -14, this is ridiculous how much it moved in an hour. So stupid for not jumping on it. OSU is easily 3 TD's better and at home!

vegas runners on Steam moves:
This is one of those Positions based on anticipation, as everyone I spoke to expects to see the books take plenty of public money on WIS next Saturday...Cris opened this one up first again, and the Wiseguys took +16 right away...Within 10 min, the line was at +15...and that's where the others opened it up...That'swhen the Wiseguys went to work, buying up all the +15 they could find...The books decided to adjust this line in 1/2 pt incriments, and the Wiseguys couldn't have been happier...as they were now able to take another Position at +14.5...Forcing the books to lower it even more, down to OSU -14 which is where it is this morning...My Line Prediction is that the betting public will do what the Wiseguys expect, and that's come in on the dog...and ultimately drive this number down some more...The books will not want to open up a big middle for the Wiseguys, but being such a big game...they may have no choice...VR

I hope you are right Johnny, that the line will come back down, but I have a feeling 16 is where it stays. Last nght I looked at the percentages on Wisconsin and it was close to 50/50 even with all the line movement, it is now 70/30 in favor of Wisconsin ATS but no line movement. In my opinion, OSU wins by at least 17, they are just in a different league than Sconnie.

Anyway, good thread, hope the line moves some more.

My thoughts are that Ohio State is in a different class than the rest of the Big 10 and should have an easy time at home all year, but I thought this was interesting.

Ohio State football: Flu continues to be a concern
Tuesday, October 6, 2009 2:47 PM
By Tim May

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

With unbeaten No.25 Wisconsin looming on the horizon Saturday afternoon, Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel flu, uh, flew through his review today of the No.8 Buckeyes' 33-14 win over Indiana last week.

"I promised myself I would remember to talk about the Indiana game, although we're pretty full of Wisconsin in our minds right now," Tressel said.

That, and wondering who the flu bug might strike next. Last week it hit center Mike Brewster at midweek, though he was able to play at Indiana. But backup left tackle Andrew Miller had to stay home with the flu and was isolated from the team once it returned over the weekend.

Now starting left tackle Mike Adams has it, along with several other players Tressel said he could not remember.
But the point was, the flu bug has taken roost, and though the players keep being reminded how they can help from spreading it amongst themselves, and though most took flu shots two weeks ago, once they're out in the general student body, they're at risk.

"I don't think it's under control because the problem is, it's not under control with the general population," Tressel said. "And you're sitting in a lecture hall and the class before that someone, you know (picks it up from someone who has it).

"That's just part of the deal, so you try to get your rest and try to take care of yourself and wash your hands as much as you can. And they didn't take my elbow bump thing (seriously) -- I mean, they must have been shaking hands too much."

He referred facetiously to the elbow bump way of greeting he demonstrated to the media. But there's no getting around there is going to be a whole lot of bumping going on Saturday when the Buckeyes (4-1, 2-0) take on the physical Badgers (5-0, 2-0) with the lead in the Big Ten on the line.

Looks like it bottomed out at 13.5 on October 5 at 4:30 pm or so. It is back up to 16. I really doubt it will dip below 15 again.

This game kind of reminds me of the UW-Penn State game in Happy Valley in 2005, when both teams were 8-1 and the line was Penn State -13. All of my fellow Wisconsin alum fans were just shocked at how high the line was and figured the Badgers were easy money. Then PSU proceeded to blow us out of the water.

I hope I'm wrong.

Don't worry. The Badgers are the play here if you can get it at +16. :mj06:

It does kinda remind ya of that game a little, but for some reason this team has a little different feel to them. I think if we can run the ball, and put in some long drives we stay within the number. FWIW, I've taken the +16. I think this game is gonna really show if Bucky is a solid team or pretenders. GL all.:mj06:

FYI - just heard from one of the booster members that Clay was in a boot all week and may be limited. That explains the -16, wish I would have heard this on Monday
