The line for this weekend's game has opened at:

Texas(-3) vs OU
Cotton Bowl
Dallas, Tx
Noon Eastern kick

My guess was Texas by anywhere from 5 to 8.

I have watched almost every snap of both teams games except OU vs Idaho St.
It doesn't make me an expert by any means but I think Texas is a team that can step it up a notch and OU is what they have shown. Maybe that is just me.

Watching OU game vs Baylor as they struggled in the redzone making the Baylor Bears defense look more like the '86 Chicago Bears. I have concerns as to both teams inside the red zone as Texas running game has been suspect against bad competition

Any early thoughts or leans out there?

I was thinking Texas wins this by around 10 again.

I don't know bud, UT's offense has looked pretty bad IMO.

This should be the best D they've gone up against. I think the game is a toss up. Neither one looks very good running the ball. If Colt will take off and run more than he has been then I think Texas will win, if not I would lean OUs way.

I guess you missed the BYU game.
Bradford has a terrible O-Line and his WR's are average at best. OU must be able to run the ball in order to win this game.

OUs WRs are awful and the best one is out. They couldnt catch a cold. Both teams have horrific OL play. Neither team can run the ball worth a damn. Bradford may get killed back there - he is a complete fool to play another single down at OU.

In what game have they gotten better?

Since BYU they have played Idaho St,Tulsa,Miami, and Baylor.

They didn't shine at all in the Miami or Baylor games.

The OU offensive line is just that: OFFENSIVE.
They are pathetic and now injured.

As for McCoy can't do it himself. I am not sure what you mean by that.
He did it by himself vs Ohio St in the Fiesta Bowl last year. 41/59 for 414 yards. Running game did nothing in that.

Also they say Newton will probably go anyway. He had a concussion and they think he will be fine for Saturday.

Whittaker is the best back Texas has and he is fine and will start.

Johnson had 3 Tds v OU last year. He is fine.

Newton got dinged on the head but should be fine.

McGee is worthless. Him being out is a positive.

don't understand why this game is always scheduled in the early part of the day....imo this type of game should be a prime-time affair....

Well I am not sure this has anything to do with it but I would think both of these factor into it.

First is the lighting for the Cotton Bowl is flat out terrible and the shadows would make it much harder than the day games.

Second thing is having gone to this game around 10 times, I can tell you this. The game is played in the Cotton Bowl on the State Fair Grounds. You get into the State Fair with a game ticket. The longer the people hang around the State Fair, the more they drink.
The walk up into and out of the stadium is somewhat amazing as there is so much red and orange mixed and it is a fight just waiting to happen(especially after the game).

Also many people park their cars in peoples yards around the Fair Grounds. The neighborhoods in that area are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Walking back to a car at night in that area is trouble.

One time myself and friends had to leave our car in some guys lawn for $10. and he promised us it would not get blocked in.
We came back and guess what, we were blocked in. The guy felt bad and said can I get you anything.
My buddy said "Can we get some Coke?"
The guy responds with "How much do you need?"

My friend said no I mean Coca-Cola.
Guys says oh no I don't have any.
:mj07:

I couldn't wait to get out of there.

It's all about the dangers of the area. It's bad enough during the daytime ,and there is almost no parking at the stadium so you have to park in the hood. All of this is why there is a risk the game will move to Jerry World, but I hope not - the Fair is great and I wouldnt want to go to this game without eating 7 0r 8 Fletcher's corn dogs.

Gray you have a long way to go - consecutive year 27 for me

Yeah and sadly most were during the Mackovic years with a few McWilliams, 1 Akers, and 2 Mack Brown coached teams.
I have not been in years and miss the Corn Dogs every morning I am watching the game.
Mouth will be watering come Saturday afternoon.

I miss the night before walking up and down Commerce St talking trash to anyone who would listen and staying all the way until the fire trucks came to hose people down who would not leave. It was strange because so many people trash talked but I never saw any fights on Commerce St.
Those were some of the most fun 24 hour stretches of my life.

I think Tre is a better RB than Fozzy...but small sample against weaker opponents makes it hard to judge. Having Tre for the OU game should be big for the Horns if he keeps running like he has. He was missed during the CU game

OU +3

OU +3

Now I am not one to say I have seen every game from OU or UT, but UT is over rated considering who they have played and how poorly they've played. Its a great story, coming back to try and win the big one, and luckily for Colt he hasn't been hurt this year, but even last week if it wasn't for the Longhorns defense and special teams scoring 21?, then does TX actually win. Maybe so, but again, ugly win.

OU on the otherhand has lost, but their competition has been far and away tougher. I've only seen their nationally televised games so I can be totally missing something, but with Bradford back and one game under his belt, even if it it was the Baylor cubs, I think OU knows this is their last real shot to do anything this year. Tough, defensive game, maybe even win outright by 3 or 4. Back against the wall, OU +3.
