I just cant trust hamels man... I faded him alot this year...and for good reason...the guy is just not the same...and kershaw can have no hit stuff on any given night he just gets wild to much...tough calll i may just watch or put something small on it...def not a game to go big on imo.

as of 10/15 12:18 PM 51% on dodgers 49% on phils

So you need to ask yourself this simple question buddy.

Post season is another beast than the reg season
so do you want your money on a guy who is :

KERSHAW is 0-3 when starting against PHILADELPHIA with an ERA of 6.64 and a WHIP of 1.574.

His team's record is 1-3 (-2.0 units) in these starts. The UNDER is 2-1. (+0.9 units)

OR A GUY :

HAMELS is 4-0 when starting against LA DODGERS with an ERA of 1.64 and a WHIP of 0.932.

His team's record is 4-2 (+1.6 units) in these starts. The OVER is 1-3. (-2.1 units)

Including 2-0 last post season vs LA.

My take is the passage of time. He has gotten much worse and they have become much better.

Kershaw has 2 starts against Philly THIS year. Last start was June 4th...he was only 20 then, but is 21 now. I think it's safe to assume he's made progression and maturity since then.

The biggest factor I think is that Kershaw is a LHP, and the Phillies boast 3 good LHB he can neutralize. Kershaw has a .173 BAA and .85 WHIP against LHB's. Also, the fact that he's a LHP means he can neutralize the running game more so than a RHP could.

Some of the brilliant posts from around the web

Some of the brilliant posts from around the web

Game 1 Easy $$$

DODGERS -137

Hamels will get lit up tonight. His new baby may be on his mind a little bit and may not be as focused. I see the Dodgers taking an early lead in the first 2 innings and cruising to a game #1 victory at home.

7-2 final

This from a Phillies fan and I agree

This from a Phillies fan and I agree

anybody else notice how the current world series champs

are not getting much credit or publicity as other former champs by the national media ?
its almost like they dont count , all you here is about the yankees and this kid pitching tonite for the dodgers . I m sure the phillies would rather have it that way but it just amazes me because they have acomplished alot this year just getting in the playoffs and winning their first series, i think that has only been done 5 times in the nl ever

cant wait till tonite and gl to everybody !!

i think this will be a great series and game tonite and i just am a bit perplexed as to why the national media and publications are barely mentioning the fact that they are back in contention for another ws

i know how the yankees and dodgers are wanted by the networks that makes sense for them but the fact that no one team has repeated since the yankees and no nl team has even won a playoff series the next yr in so many yrrs should be talked about much more .
maybe i am biased in my thinking but i dont hear much on the radio outside of philly even talking much about the fightens . i think the players on the phillies no they not getting much respect and that is why they always play hard and its to their benifit

i always hate it when people bring up this last argument.

come on guys, it's the NLCS, lets not act like just because the Dodgers are getting all the pub, or because the Phillies are going to "play hard" and all the sudden the Dodgers are just going to stop trying or they won't play just as hard? LOL

billboard material might work in basketball or football, but in baseball i think it's pointless and useless, especially come playoff time.

BUCS what are you talking about here is the best book on the web.
