Redskins are first in history to play six straight winless teams

By Chris Chase
If the Washington Redskins' schedule was any softer it would be on a package of Charmin. If the Redskins were a college team (which, at times, they resemble), pundits would mocking the team's strength of schedule.
As the great Joe Posnanski pointed out this morning on his blog, when the Redskins host the 0-5 Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday, it will mark the team's sixth consecutive game against a winless team. I'll repeat that because it doesn't sound as impressive the first time around: So far this season, every team the Redskins have played has been winless at the time of the game. According to STATS LLC, it's the first time in the history of the NFL that this has happened. The last team to have faced five winless teams was the 1954 Giants.
According to <STRIKE>some quick math I did in my head</STRIKE> my dad (whom I had to call to get help with the equation), the odds of this happening are 1 in 32,768. (Feel free to check this and let me know if our numbers are wrong.)
Here's the way the Redskins schedule has broken down so far, along with their opponent's record at the time:
Week 1 -- at New York Giants (0-0)
Week 2 -- vs. St. Louis Rams (0-1)
Week 3 -- at Detroit Lions (0-2)
Week 4 -- vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3)
Week 5 -- at Carolina Panthers (0-3 -- Note: Carolina had a week 3 bye)
Week 6 -- vs. Kansas City Chiefs (0-5)
Obviously, the Giants were winless because they had yet to play a game. Since then, the Redskins have faced the dregs of the NFL but could only muster a 2-2 record against them. (Which is pretty much all the evidence one should need to pass judgment on the future of Jim Zorn.)
New York excepted, the current combined record of the rest of the 'Skins opponents is 2-22, with the only two wins coming against the Redskins themselves (by Detroit and Carolina). After Sunday, last place Washington will have faced every of their last place peers in the NFC, as well as one in the AFC too.
The streak will end in week 7 when the Redskins host the Philadelphia Eagles, a team with a whopping three wins to its credit thus far.

OK,Skins have there problems.Plain to see.
But Dallas!:mj07: There not to far behind!

In fact if they did not pull a horseshoe out of there arse against KC,they would in fact be neck and neck with the most undercoached, overrated QB in the league.

Oh wait I think Homo .....Romo got Cambell beat in that department.Take the blinders off Dallas is not that (even) better!

You want to start talking about New England :tongue :tongue

Too bad they don't play Dallas this year because I'd make a hat/shirt/whatever bet with you.

Brady is a PUSSY:shrug:

Remember, we played the same game that you did against Denver and I know we'd beat your ass...

Same goes for NE. Miami is coming on. Jets are the best. And I remember seeing a neck and neck game with Buffalo.

I want to take that bet, but can't dammit. Look at our schedules, both of our teams have the same record to date. We have 10x harder schedule. Post them if you want. A lot of the teams you have left are soft compared to the teams we play.

Anything can happen in the course of a season.

I'll tell you what, I enjoy the New England fans they're classy. I really respected the way they cheered for the injured Ravens player when he was carried off of the field a few weeks ago.

Let's do it like this since we're both die hard fans the next time Dallas plays New England (prob next year) I will bet you a shirt, hat, sweatshirt SU or points whatever is more favorable to you. That way we can talk shit to each other before the game and make it fun.

When I looked at our remaining schedule, I thought damn that's brutal no chance at the playoffs. Looks like I may have to bet against my team a few times this year, especially against the Saints I wish we would've kept that guy he would be our head coach now instead of dumbfuck Phillips.

Sounds good.Odv. if they both win its a push.I will be in touch either way(push or win).

Im going to Pats game Sunday. There talking rain, but what thats life.NE has there problems, mainly Bradys rusty(no pun intended) and there D needs to play tougher(or should I say there coaches need to better game plan.blitz,etc.)

Also NE O always seems to run the playclock down to 0 before snapping ball on every play.

I disagree with this gameplaning, the D can read the snap count on this gameplanning(in the SB vs NYG they did it every time and Brady almost got killed.

Anyway GL with Dallas and go Skins! :mj07:

Sounds Good!

Enjoy the game, Pats should win easily. However, anything can happen on any given Sunday. Wouldn't that be an embarrassment if the Tits got their first win this Sunday?

I hope you guys win, might bet it. Good luck.
