Cause he's a thug, and thugs always act like they've done nothing wrong, and they want to fight when someone tells them they've done wrong

had it been timed better woulda been a nice hit. i think in his mind as he was running up to him simply anticipated the timiing poorly...maybe thought "i'll get there right when the ball does" but gauged it poorly.

Disagree. The hit would have been dirty/illegal even if Smith had caught it first. The thug left his feet and launched his helmet/shoulder pad at the receivers head.

I would give him what Haynesworth got for stepping on that dude + another game.

he led with his shoulder, not his head.

get this--with shoulder pads on--your head is right next to you shoulder pad. so, to put your shoulder pad into something--your head isnt far off/right next to.

a text book tackle would be breakdown and drive your shoulder into midsection with face up, facemask on ball. wrap arms around legs and drive into ground.

he left his feet, --thusly going at his head, i concur that isnt textbook, but even too many pass rushers are getting flagged for leading with head--when in essence they're actually trying to put they're shoulder into the guy and is too hard to not have your head hit somewhere that looks bad.

he was trying to HIT him, not TACKLE him. and hits are frowned upon in league. --not condoning HITTING, but it has its place--and this wasnt one of those few instances.

Was far from a thug hit, he was timming the hit to go with ball being caught, happens lots of time in the year, once he or the player sees the hit insight they drop head and that cause them to lose site of the ball, what was wrong was that he went high to the head area and was thrown out because of both benches clearing and the stripes had to show they were taking action or game would of been lost to them and they can;t have that, that is why he was up-set, he didnot plan on going down field to take a cheap shot, this is what happens on punt returns, ball kicked high hangs up and players try and time it to make a big hit.

Those who think it was any different have no-clue about fb, was round it all my life with a family who had and does coach in ncaa my whole life. like i said only think that was off in his actions was the hit up high if he will of drilled him below the neck line would of just been a 15 yarder no ejection, and they could of ejected everyone who came onto the field of play that was not involved in the play , like i said this happens lots of time in nfl and ncaa on punts it was a play that player tried to time and was just off the mark it was bang bang, but the high hit is what gave them grounds to run him , would not of been the case if he drilled him below the neckline.
