Vikings-Steelers highlight of NFL Week 7

The big game in the NFL this weekend pits the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings against the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at Heinz Field.

NFL Odds at betED.com have the Steelers as 5-point home favorites and the over/under at 45.

One factor that makes this matchup even more intriguing is it will be the first meeting between the teams in nearly four years, since an 18-3 Pittsburgh win on Dec. 18, 2005. The Steelers were 4.5-point road favorites in that tilt.

In fact, this will be just the fourth meeting since 1995. Pittsburgh is 2-1 SY but 1-2 ATS over that span.

Last week, the Vikings faced their biggest test yet this season as they hosted the Baltimore Ravens, and very nearly suffered their first loss of the season. Minnesota held on for a 33-31 win when Ravens? kicker Steven Hauschka missed a 44-yard field-goal attempt with just seconds remaining.

Minnesota covered as 3-point home favorites and the score went over the over/under total of 45.5. Brett Favre passed for 278 yards with three TDS in the win.

Pittsburgh faced AFC North rival Cleveland Browns last Sunday and came away with a 27-14 win, but fell a point short of covering as 14-point home favorites. The score went over the over/under total of 38.

Ben Roethlisberger passed for 417 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Pittsburgh.

Minnesota (6-0 SU, 4-2 ATS) has won six straight while Pittsburgh (4-2 SU, 1-5 ATS) has won three straight.

Minnesota is 5-0 SU in its past five on the road and 5-1 ATS in its past six on the road. Pittsburgh is 5-0 SU in its past five at home.

On the injury front, Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson has had limited practice this week but is expected to play Sunday.
