does my heart good to see this over-hyped team become a near bottom dweller...now if NBC sees the light...

if they joined a conference I could respect them a little...they won't though, why share the money.:thefinger

Yeah, I don't know the exact reasons he left, but what he said was that Knute Rockne's career wins record was sacred and he didn't want to break it.

Whether that was the reason or not...if it was, not much ND could have done.

Not sure what the answer is for the Irish. Academics too high (meaning, most other places are too low) combined with playing in cold Indiana, along with the fact that ND name isn't quite what it used to be. Its tough to compete in talent with teams like USC, Florida, Texas, etc...

They are in a conf. all but fb the big east , they have till end of 2012 when fb tv contract runs out to go all in if not they are out and it would cost them a ton of cash in all other sports. for bowl games they count as a big east pick which is bs.

Lou is one of the best coaches ever. Nd will give pitt a run for their money today.
