Ok guys, here is the deal. I coach a high school football team. We are playing the semifinals on friday (actually just 4 teams get to the postseason out of 10) We are playing the number one team. The 3 best teams are kind of Florida,Texas and Bama and we are kind of Air Force. We are a team with a 29 players in roster, and the other 3 teams are like a 50 players roster team. Our QB is a Stud that plays QB, SS and punt returner, basically (even we dont tell it in our motivational speech) we are in playoff cause of him

I want to play a northwestern 2000 or kansas st 2003 style offense cause we dont have a chance of win :142smilie by playing regular football.
So my question is, where can a find those teams plays? I already seek at youtube, but I need more plays, i will post a video of the game, and maybe I will post a video of a trick play that you guys think is the best.

TIA

J.Lo

The fakes GT used against Clemson early this season were pretty good. Take a look at that fake FG where they line up on fourth do a mass subsitution and the unti runs off and one player stays on the field on the sideline. That was a good QUICK formation. Just a suggestion. I would also look at the way Boise lines up for extra points. It might be a nice jail break swing screen based off confusion.

I would also take a look at what Washington did yesterday against the Broncos. They had a sweet fake punt for a touchdown. it could have been a fake fg, but i believe it was a punt.

hook and laterals
swinging gate
fumble rooskie
statue of liberty

onside kicks when they least expect it, fake punts, fake field goals, etc...

I will look tonight for videos.

search Boise St vs Oklahoma a few years ago, hook and lateral

Florida state a few years ago ran a fumble rooskie that was awesome, I believe on a fake punt, punter jumps like the ball went over head, snap ball to up back hands it to a lineman and he runs with the ball

onside kick everytime - put four players outside each hash then in the middle have your kicker and two other players and kick to where you out number the other team.

Based on what he is saying, he's really a one man show, so I am not sure all these trick play ideas are going to get the job done -- too pull off a Hook and Ladder you need a lot of things to happen, and he might not have the players for that.

His Kansas State 2003 comparision is probably a good one, because they had Robertson (who was decent) and Sproles (who was a Stud) and that's about it.

While I don't know anything about your offense, you are going to have to feature your best player, much like they did with Sproles vs the Sooners, who ran for 235 and caught balls for over 100 yards if I remember correctly.

Here's the only video I could find (I forgot how bad Jason White looked in this game)

He is a crazy idea.... pull a paul pierce. After one drive on third down have the stud go down.. screaming in pain, get the trainers to walk him off the field. But like any warrior have him limp back in barely putting wight on a leg and struggling to get to the huddle.
First down - line up 4 wr on one side (hail mary stle) and none to the other. Have him roll out to the strong side and slowly huck it deep out of bound and limp back to the huddle. Screaming in pain.
2nd down - same formation run it. QB screams again and now have the line say coach take him out he can't play!
3rd down - same formation have him take off to the weak side from the 4 WR on a QB scramble. All the DB's and safeties should be on that side with no threat to the run, line will pound the middle because they know it will run and the back side should have open space.

Cheers

Trick plays will only overcome some of the deficit. Where are the weaknesses of their team, tendecy's they have and come up with a number of plays that are your strenght. Run them out of different formations until they stop it.

Are you from Jersey? If so, where? I would be willing to help in anyway, but trickery is not a solution to win through out the game.

Regardless, congrats on the success to date and best of luck going forward.

What about running the wildcat?

Also - The carolina panthers ran a play against arizona. Basic toss to the side where they always line up and pass to S. Smith. Only this time JD did a pump fake and SS ran past the defender and was wide open for the pass.

Seemed simple enough. Wish I had a more technical description...

What's the line on the game? :0corn

:mj07: :mj07: :director: Good luck coach. wish i had a play for u.Turnovers can change the complexion of a game. Have your boys play aggressive D. pull on the arm , helmet to ball, pop that shit out, jump a few routes if your down a couple scores. Swarm , swarm , swarm on D. Every guy hard to the ball every play. Im sure this is no help , but just saying D can get ya points too.

Vince Young in the Rose Bowl was a one man team. Maybe look up videos of Vince in college;)

My guess is that qb is already running wildcat:shrug:

Element of surprise is the key, you cant run trick plays every play, run base plays and then surprise them.

I think you are onto something. He said they are the clear 4th in their league, but that being said, they beat out 6 other teams to get here...so they must be doing some things well.

Without knowing anything about these teams it's impossible to tell, but if this kid is the best player on the field, then that probably is their best hope --- that he just red hot and just takes over the game, much like VY did.
