LSU has no chance to keep up with Arky next week. It will hurt this recruiting class, but Miles is going to be fired imo. Burns and I have been unhappy w/ Miles' clock and game management for years, but it reached new heights yesterday.

A couple of years ago he got lucky to beat Auburn on a last second completion. Had Byrd dropped the pass, LSU would have lost the game. Were Miles to have called his remaining TO prior to the pass play, there would have been time for an incompletion and a fg attempt. Time after time, we spot failures in his game management, yet he somehow would come out unscathed as a result of a high level of talent and good fortune.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen him at a loss for words...he's been 'spared' many times in the past just because of superior atheletes. When they were on UMs 33 they had plenty of time to run a couple of plays, pick up 3 to 5 yds, and at the worst have a chance for a 45-47yd field goal, very doable.

Just read some of his post-game comments where he said he "suggested" runs but allowed pass plays to be called on 1st & 2nd downs. You are the effen head coach, the CEO of this team. It is your decision. If you want a run, you get your assistants to call in a run. How effen passive is that.

Sorry man, the close ones like this are too much to take some times. Especially when you know it was easily preventable.

No doubt. It was like being repeatedly kicked in the balls.......

From :27 on the clock to :09, I was running around the bar screaming for a TO to be called. Time was burning, yet no one would do anything. LABurns was with me, so he can verify.

Then, after wasting all of this time, we complete the long pass, which leads to sudden elation until we all learn that the FG unit is not even been gathered on the sidelines, nor has a second pass play been called.

Well, there is always next year.

when they got the onside kick, shouldn't the special teams coach have had the FG team standing by ready? Why is it that we can think of these things in bars but the guys that get paid the big bucks act like they are playing Madden?

Agreed, until yesterday, I thought he was doing okay this year with what he had, only losing to the 1 and 2 team in the country respectively. I think they have slipped a little in recruiting and it is starting to show.

There is no excuse whatsoever that a major college football coach can give me for the way he handled the end of that game. Even Verne was going nuts on the air - "What are they doing, oh my gosh":142smilie

Now, the big ? is who you gonna get Cie:shrug:
