Week 11 provides us with opportunities on 14 games this Sunday. When taking a quick look at the lines, there are some hefty numbers. Seven games have favorites of -9 or more. Of those seven, 4 are road favorites. In fact, there are a total of 7 road favorites this Sunday. Pretty wild, huh. One might be tempted to say: take the home dog, take the double digit home dog, or take the double digit road dog. Does one dare take a double digit favorite? Sometimes large favorites can be justified when looking deeper into the reasons. Most say big lined favorites are easier. Examples:
PIT@KC
The Steelers will look to take out some frustration, after losing to the Bengals last week at home. A Steelers? bounce-back beat down looks good with two key injuries for the Chiefs, defensive leader Mike Vrabel and leading reciever Dwayne Bowe. The Steelers rush defense is ranks first in the NFL. The Chiefs have one rushing touchdown this season.
ARZ@STL
Arizona is 4-0 on the road. The Rams are 0-4 at home. The Cardinals have beaten the Rams five straight times and six of the last seven.
NYJ@NE
This is a huge game for the Patriots; it?s not only a revenge game for losing to the Jets in week two, but it?s also a bounce-back game for last week?s coaching loss to the Colts. Look for the Patriot?s angry defense to completely shut down the Jets struggling offence. Since 2003, the Patriots are 20-1, a .952 winning percentage, after losing the previous week.
See how easy it can get? Senor Capper might call the above insane plays, but lets get to the real plays. Lets look at my 90/10 rule. When 90% are on a game they win 10% of the time. As of 11:00am,
KC +11.5 -105 x5
PIT at 95%, take KC. KC is so confident after a win, they are giving Mike Vrabel the day off and give Dwayne Bowe time off for Thanksgiving and some of December to go Christmas shopping.
BAL +1.5 -110 x5
IND at 93%, take BAL. The Colts are 9-0 for the third time in last five seasons, how far can they go? The undefeated road gets harder - opponents tend to step up their games to be the team that ends the streak. Big sharp play on the Ravens.
SD un 41.5 -108 x4
Over at 91%, take under. Total has dropped 1.5 points.
CHI +3.5 -110 x5
PHI at 89%, take CHI. The Eagles and Bears are both in must-win situations in order to stay in the playoff race. The losing team here will be out of it. Philadelphia will be without their RB Brian Westbrook this week and likely for the remainder of the year.
Other plays early:
MIN -10 -120 x3 SEA playing at 10 am, no road wins.
GB -6 +100 x3 SF playing at 10am, Packers have dominated Niners recently.
