Not to turn this into the Martha Stewart forum, but I am trying to find a certain recipe for a Christmas cookie that my grandmother made when I was a teen-ager. I have a few months of down time before I start a 6 month project and my wife is working mucho hours at the hospital, so I promised my daughters that I would make Christmas cookies with them. A description of the cookie that I am trying to find a name and resipe for is that it is a ball shaped cookie with powdered sugar and an anise clove in it, but when you mix the batter you add booze and for some reason I was thinking it was a greek booze. My skills are limited in the kitchen, so I want to make this cookie and hopefully find some other easy recipes to make.

Wife makes a cookie like that. Not anise though. Give me a minute.

Christmas Snowballs

1 cu butter
1/2 cu sifted confectionery sugar
1 teas vanilla or anisette
2 1/4 cu sifted flour
1/4 teas salt
3/4 cu finely chopped pecans or walnuts

Combine all ingredients. If dough seems dry, add a few more drops of vanilla or anissette. Chill dough for 1-2 hours.
Form dough into small balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for 10 mins.
While still hot-roll cookies in extra confectionery sugar
Do not brown cookies only set.
