My parents owned an arcade from 81-86 I think it was (ages 7-12 for me). My list could be a mile long. We had all the best games, Asteroids Deluxe, the big walk in Tron, etc. Fuckin good times!!!!:00hour

Going in with my Mom on Saturdays was a blast. I had the an unlimited supply of tokens. It was like hitting the childhood lotto, I had friends come out of the woodwork I never even knew. When the tokens were gone, so were my friends:(

On the course!
I played Q*Bert for over 30 hours on one quarter.

I held the world record for about a week!

My two favorites in the arcade were Missile Command and Galaga. I used to play Missile Command for hours. I can still remember that stray missile getting through my barrage of missiles across the screen and the panic that would set in... :scared

FAVS: SPACE ACE/DRAGONS LAIR/DRAGONS LAIR 2 AND KILLER INSTINCT 1 :00hour

i loved that game but it ATE quarters. You had to move the joystick to a specific direction at a specific moment and it was all video animation.

Great games though.

I had them on the Amiga 500 and it was the neighborhood hit for a spell...

I remember paying $150 for a one meg RAM expansion to play DL :scared

If we are sticking to arcade only then I have a few:
Punchout was indeed a good one.
Somebody mentions Tron.
Did you ever play Discs of Tron(I think that was the name) it was arcade and Intellivision also had it.

Also there was a football game where you picked the play between short or long pass or run. It then showed NFL footage from a couple SD/Miami games. Only problem was the game was very reptitive and yet I continued to dump quarter after quarter into it.
Probably because the wait for Dragon's Lair was too long.
Also I could not handle the pressure of Dragon's Lair as our place had an extra monitor on top of the arcade so people could watch you play.
Serious pressure.

Also EVEL KNIEVEL STUNT CYCLE ate up many quarters trying to set records.

For all old school arcade dwelling nerds.
You should watch the DVD "KING OF KONG".
A good documentary about a guy proving his Donkey Kong skills by getting to the kill screen.
This DVD has it all. Nerds stand in amazement. A guy who claims to be the greatest Kong player but refuses to play. Kind of like Seinfeld where he refused to race.

Also raise your hand if you have ever been in an Arcade Room in the 80's and put a quarter in Burger Time or Root Beer Tapper.
You are only lying to yourself if your hand is down.:142smilie

What bothered me was when someone you didnt know came up and started playing, of course ELF, and that fast bastard ran around whoring all the treasure and food even though the game kept saying THOR needs food badly.

Id wait until Death came out and there was a one exit part of the map, head up to that narrow passage and stand still to block it waiting for him to get behind me. He'd say "MOVE" and Id just stand there. Waiting for the Death sandwich. Good times.
