I guess there is no limit on how many threads are needed to point out that Roy is a dick.

I don't think anyone is doubting or questioning Roy Williams the coach or even the person.

Just the ego.

All this incident is gonna do is make life hell for him on the road anywhere he goes.
You think Maryland or Duke will go wasy on him.
He will hear things he never could have imagined in the coming weeks.

I know, just giving everyone here a hard time. Roy is actually a great guy, but has a sensative side to him where he can be a little out of line. However, I'd rather have that, then alot of these other pricks out there.

And, we cut down the nets, ALOT!

I know the feeling. He's misunderstood. Just like the humanitarian we brought in at Tech a few years ago.

The guy gets a chair for a one legged guy and they crucify him

look at all the players looking...the guy was a bore...an ass....probably drunk....williams was sticking up for his players...

lets hope the carolina fans that are whining about williams`poor social skills have their inner wishes fulfilled and he leaves carolina....

maybe we can work out a "williams" deal...you guys get gary and we get roy?.......

you guys are awfuly sensitive...who really gives a damn about some loudmouth in the stands acting like an asshole?......

some carolina fans need to have about 5 losing seasons in a row...gain a little perspective...

weasel, I guess the part you don't get is that the guy in the stands reportedly was not acting like an asshole and was not drunk. Now if being a bore deserves someone getting kicked out of a game and missing the entertainment he paid for, then they should have something printed on the tickets for visitors' sake. All Roy is saying to me is that he has recruited and now coaches a bunch of pussies that can't take a verbal jab without it mentally breaking them down. If I was a future opponent of North Carolina's I would take this and run with it. Texas fans take note, would love to see some signs at the game this weekend.

buying a ticklet doesn`t automatically give a person the right to act as assinine at a public venue as they do at home....

he was making enough of a scene to get the attention of all the players on the bench.....and probably disturbing other fans that paid good money to watch a game...not listen to some moron with a grudge or a bone to pick....

i`m glad he got tossed...hopefully, he has enough servicable, working neurons in that empty gourd to learn the lesson...

but,somehow i doubt it...

Yeah,

'Leon, don't miss it' goes against any standard of decency.

Have you ever been to any sporting event of any kind?

Come on GW. You are better thaqn this.
The video shows the players looking back because Roy is already yelling at him.
If he was so rude and over the top then why was not a single fan cheering his departure as he gets escorted out by the cops.
I have seen a few people get the boot before and everyone cheers his departure.

I am sure the UNC crowd was quiet because they were up 40+ and nothing exciting going on. This guy yelled out something anti UNC that was easy to hear and Roy didn't like it.
Roy stands up for his players as he did it at Kansas when one of his players fell into the OU student section and got yelled at by a student. Roy ran over and blasted the OU kid. That was over the line as well. All that kid did was yell something at his player.
What makes NCAA sports better than pro sports is the passionate fans. This is not tennis or golf and is total BS that this guy got tossed.

Are you kidding me ?

The Presbytarian fan yelled

"Hey Deon Dont Miss it"

[/url]

never been to a college basketball game but went to plenty of knick games at the garden & i can say that a lot worse was said to opposing players at the foul line (you can imagine what ny'ers said) than was said at this game....& nobody was thrown out or even reprimanded....am a fan of williams but imo he has come off looking very bad in this situation....

yes i have..and yes, theres an awful lot of cheering, yelling and carrying on...

that`s why i believe this guy was a tad more idiotic and belligerent than "his version" would indicate...

"Immediately after the game, Sports Information Director Steve Kirschner said security officers told him that the fan appeared intoxicated, wasn't in his ticketed seat and had been asked to move earlier.

UNC department of public safety spokesman Randy Young said Monday that King initially ignored officers and was uncooperative.

"It was in the officers' opinion that he had been drinking," Young said. "At which point they made the decision that it would be better for himself and others that he was escorted from the building."

Young said King was not arrested, nor were charges pressed or trespass orders issued. King said he was given a different reason for why he was ejected."

:violin: ...next time maybe he`ll ,act like a grown-up...

williams didn`t throw him out...according to police he was talked to previously...

i know you radicals love"sticking it to the man"....but,sometimes if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.it`s a duck...t

i believe the police...not some not some rude a-hole who hasn`t mentally evolved past puberty...

I'm not going just off of what the fan said, I am also taking into account the multiple articles that have been written on the incident. The fan could very well have been drinking earlier, as well as probably half of the fans in the arena. The drinking was a scapegoat to have a reason to escort him off the premises. Believe me, if someone is cursing or threatening a player or coach then by all means toss him, but this was ridiculous. You can assume all you want (drunk, causing problems, etc) but going off of the written facts, Roy was a puss and got called out on it.

jhawk, you believe the instigator and the media...i`ll believe the authorities...

this is a non-event......period...this is "the media" blowing a hiccup into a noreaster....

this reminds me(not in seriousness or subject matter)but in the way the media is handling it of the len bias incident....,

yeah,i know theres no comparison as far as importance or gravity of situation, but it`s another case of the media(for whatever shitty reason),trying to turn sentiment against a successful coach...

as most know,bias died of a cocaine overdose...it had nothing to do with dreisell...he`s wasn`t a f-cking babysitter...he didn`t tuck em in...guard em....wipe their asses...

but because one high profile kid made bad decisions(and paid dearly),the media ran dreisell out on a rail....

it made no sense...but,many in the media didn`t like lefty`s style...maybe they felt slighted...who knows with these prima donnas...

but lefty was scape-goated..great caoch...helluva recruiter...a character...beloved by most that really followed the program...

but the media made him the boogey man...

if you carolina fans aren`t careful, the p.c. media will chop down an excellent coach like williams a little at a time....

this issue is nothing more than the media fabricating a non-event into a story...
