I don't think anyone is doubting or questioning Roy Williams the coach or even the person.
Just the ego.
All this incident is gonna do is make life hell for him on the road anywhere he goes.
You think Maryland or Duke will go wasy on him.
He will hear things he never could have imagined in the coming weeks.
I know, just giving everyone here a hard time. Roy is actually a great guy, but has a sensative side to him where he can be a little out of line. However, I'd rather have that, then alot of these other pricks out there.
And, we cut down the nets, ALOT!
weasel, I guess the part you don't get is that the guy in the stands reportedly was not acting like an asshole and was not drunk. Now if being a bore deserves someone getting kicked out of a game and missing the entertainment he paid for, then they should have something printed on the tickets for visitors' sake. All Roy is saying to me is that he has recruited and now coaches a bunch of pussies that can't take a verbal jab without it mentally breaking them down. If I was a future opponent of North Carolina's I would take this and run with it. Texas fans take note, would love to see some signs at the game this weekend.
buying a ticklet doesn`t automatically give a person the right to act as assinine at a public venue as they do at home....
he was making enough of a scene to get the attention of all the players on the bench.....and probably disturbing other fans that paid good money to watch a game...not listen to some moron with a grudge or a bone to pick....
i`m glad he got tossed...hopefully, he has enough servicable, working neurons in that empty gourd to learn the lesson...
but,somehow i doubt it...
Are you kidding me ?
The Presbytarian fan yelled
"Hey Deon Dont Miss it"
[/url]
Yeah,
'Leon, don't miss it' goes against any standard of decency.
Have you ever been to any sporting event of any kind?
never been to a college basketball game but went to plenty of knick games at the garden & i can say that a lot worse was said to opposing players at the foul line (you can imagine what ny'ers said) than was said at this game....& nobody was thrown out or even reprimanded....am a fan of williams but imo he has come off looking very bad in this situation....
Come on GW. You are better thaqn this.
The video shows the players looking back because Roy is already yelling at him.
If he was so rude and over the top then why was not a single fan cheering his departure as he gets escorted out by the cops.
I have seen a few people get the boot before and everyone cheers his departure.
I am sure the UNC crowd was quiet because they were up 40+ and nothing exciting going on. This guy yelled out something anti UNC that was easy to hear and Roy didn't like it.
Roy stands up for his players as he did it at Kansas when one of his players fell into the OU student section and got yelled at by a student. Roy ran over and blasted the OU kid. That was over the line as well. All that kid did was yell something at his player.
What makes NCAA sports better than pro sports is the passionate fans. This is not tennis or golf and is total BS that this guy got tossed.
You want to see how fans react when you really deserve to get tossed:
