Two people familiar with the trade tell The Associated Press that pitcher Javy Vazquez has been traded back to the New York Yankees by the Atlanta Braves.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the swap had not yet been announced.

New York also will get left-hander Boone Logan as part of the deal and will send the Braves outfielder Melky Cabrera and left-handed pitching prospect Mike Dunn, one person said.

So logan takes over the roll that Phil Coke was in last year and Vazquez gives them an innings eater to take the heat off of CC.

However, the yanks have traded away two of their top ten prospects and their number one pitching prospect to get Javier back.

Now they have a hole in left field.

We keep hearing that they want the payroll around 200 mill and are sitting at 198 milllion.

I have a feeling they revisit Damon but with out any good left fielders they can get for 4-6 million a year they will end up trading a Gaudin type and then go out and sign Holliday to a 5/6 year deal.

They will end up with a payroll of around 210 million but they are the yankees so nothing would suprise me.

When money is really not a concern, would you rather have Damon at two years 16 million or would you rather have Holliday long term at 15+ million a year?

Also with Austin Jackson being dealt to Tigers there are no answers in the system for left field.

So a long term deal to Holliday is not going to block anyone, and we have seen the yanks just use their system to get the bigger players via trade.
