YTD Record: 42-31 for +6.0 units
For those record police out there, my units were wrong in my record for the last couple of weeks. It is correct now (actually was understated in recent posts). On to today's plays:
DePaul/Pitt Over 117 for 6 units ? I?ve described DePaul?s game philosophy this year the basketball equivalent of Herm Edward?s game plans. They want to slow it down and limit the number of possessions in the slim hopes of hanging tough and being within reach in the final minutes of a game. They have compiled a 7-5 record against a weak non-conference record (#232) and have had humiliating losses to American and Florida Gulf Coast in the last week. However, given this and Pitt?s penchant for good D, especially at home, this number is really low. The pace isn?t going to be blazing, but it will be enough to get it into the 120?s. Also DePaul has Mac Koshwal back who missed 8 games before returning 1 game ago (16 pts., 13 boards vs. FGCU). Koshwal is a really good player on a terrible team and helps bring some inside presence and scoring.
UNC -20.5 for 2 units ? Rutgers first true road game, yikes. Rutgers has the second worst SOS in the nation and laid down in their only game against a quality opponent (Florida). It will be much the same in this one as the Tar Heels will have no problem rolling. As known Rutgers is without starting Forward Echenique, but have been in the last few games. Hasn?t been as noticeable, but that was due to the lowly competition.
UNC -12 for 2 units ? typically don?t play halves but just think UNC will jump out early and stay that way in this one.
