First off, I respect the Indianapolis Colts organization, which is run by Bill Polian who is argueably the best GM in the game, but in my opinion, the Colts decision to rest Peyton Manning when the team was up by only five points in the third quarter, could cost their team in the Playoffs. Manning was clearly not on board with the decision.
The Colts should have attempted to go up by at least another score and then rested him in the fourth quarter. Because of the organizations decision, the Colts players no longer "have their swagger" going forward into the Playoffs and I question their psyche entering the postseason.
Had the Colts won out and entered the Playoffs undefeated, they most certainly would have had a chance to be mentioned as the greatest team of all time had they made it through the AFC and won the Super Bowl. However, that was taken away from the players by the organization, and last time I checked, it's the players that play the game.
