GSP Olympian?

I heard from a buddy that GSP was considering vacating the 170 lb belt after the Dan Hardy fight and attempting to get on the Canadian wrestling team. Im not sure thats gonna go the way he hopes it will. Just because he usually has success on mma takedowns in the UFC doesnt mean that some crazy Iranian isnt gonna give him his wings. Can he medal? I doubt it. Maybe this is just a rumor. Anyone know anything about this or is it an urban legend?:shrug:

Not a rumour.....right now he has said he's not good enough to make the Canadian team. But the National coach says that if he takes 1.5 years off of MMA he will most likely make the team. As for him winning a medal, that won't happen, but if he makes the team then good for him. He wants to represent Canada, I hope he goes for it.

I predict he'll fight Anderson Silva in super-fight and then take 1.5 years off MMA to pursue his dream. I predict two more fights for him, maybe three, then fight Anderson and then go for the Olympics.
