Well, you gotta admit, it WAS out of character for Saban - and probably the perfect spot, being the 1st possession of the game....
A bigger question - why would the DB intercept the ball there (except for the stat of getting an interception).
It's 4th down - why give up 20 yards in field position just to pad your stats! :shrug:
In situations like that, the announcers NEVER bring this up - and I wonder why???
