I don't know if Texas would have won with Colt in there or not, but I will say that if Texas had gotten their back-up QB some real experience this year instead of running up scores padding McCoy's stats, they might have won tonight without him.

Good Point!

I ain't bitching junior. I'm stating facts. Texas wins this game with Colt. It's that simple. I'll win my money back with the Cardinals this sunday, I ain't worried about that at all.

Would they have won if colt stays in, maybe, but to say you are stating a fact is to totally ignore what the definition of fact is. The real fact is that texas lost and unfortunantly we will never know what coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Gilbert played a good amount time wise this year, but the problem was the lead was always so big and they just handed off and did short dumpoffs with Gilbert in the game.

You're 100% right keeko.

Bama is WAAAY overrated. Texas wins the game outright if he's healthy enough to play.

No doubt about it. I know it and everyone knows it. Bama is overrated. No offense.

MAKES SENSE WHY ALA WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH TCU!!!! (OR BOISE ST FOR THAT MATTER)...

MAN TEXAS PLAYED WITH A LOT OF HEART... TAKE AWAY THE 4 T.O.'s and this game was an easy UNDER AND TEX ML.... Just the way MOST OF MJ's elite (IMO) cappers had it..... {There were alot of elite cappers on ALA too here; but the majority of them had TEX and undr}

Score would have been right around 27-13 or maybe 24-10 TEX with COLT....

LIKE CINCI #3.... :mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

CONF USA..... WORST CONF LAST YEAR YET THEY PRODUCE A #3???? Above TCU and BOISE?? And this paper champ team who BEAT FLA easily, struggles til the final few minutes against a FRESHMAN QB???

IF TCU played ALA and BOISE played FLA this year, heh, SEC would lose lots and lots of $$$$ support and the "BIG LIE"/"BIG SECRET/BIG FASSAUD OF BCS CONF TEAMSwould be over and we as fans might get a playoff system of some sort... Funny, 1 yr ago I was saying the same thing... And itll fall on deaf ears again....

BTW, DID ANY CONFERENCE BESIDES MTN WEST HAVE 4 BOWL WINS OR MORE... (TCU ONLY LOSER OF THE 5; WYO, BYU, UTAH, and AIR FORCE all won theirs')

Overall though, tonight's game WAS FUN TO WATCH ACTUALLY IMO.... HOPE EVERYONE DID WELL THIS BOWL SEASON!!!! GOOD NIGHT!

No Duncecap, the fact is Texas wins that game easy with Colt. I know and you know it. Bama is overrated, and Saban is a punk ass bitch.

He's the dunce, yet you are unaware of the difference between fact and opinion:mj07:

That said, I think it was fairly clear that Texas stood a good chance of winning the game with McCoy in the game. We were all shafted, as this could have been agreat game.

You can cap depth and coaching but none of those ever matter!
Colt would have one is a Fact, that is so juvenile and completely unfactual. I love how people insist on placing blame and excuses to cover up the Fact they were wrong, dead wrong. Final score 37-21, that is fact.

If Colt was playing Texas goes up at least 10-0 and maybe 14-0. That changes the whole game. Bama has to start throwing the ball, and their QB is fucking terrible. One of the worst QB's I have ever saw. Texas wins this game easy with Colt. And whoever doesn't see that, is blind and needs to stop gambling.

If you say this, then you could also say that Texas wouldn't even be in the NC game if Sam Bradford was able to play in the OU/Texas game. Final score was Texas 16 OU 13. I'm sure Bradford is good for at least 3 more points. Staying healthy is a crucial part of everyone's season, usually championship teams don't have to cope with huge injuries. It's just dumb luck.

Exactly right, I would love to hear a sensible reply to this one!

Yes, the SEC won six:shrug:

Not to mention six BCS championships in 12 years. The other conferences combined have six to match the SEC.

I was really wanting Texas to win as well and who knows how things play out if he stays in? Maybe McElroy is forced to throw more and rushes? Maybe they are up 10-0, 14-0, who knows?

You also have to look at it from the other side as well. Saban would not have completely sat on the ball in the second half. Bama's defensive scheme would have changed. McCoy would have faced much more pressure.

The only thing that is certain is the Texas's rush defense was gashed and proof that their rush d was way overrated. They gave up more rush yards against Bama than the following teams:
Auburn
LSU
Tennessee
Arkansas
Kentucky
Ole Miss

And don't start in with "well of course they had more run yards because Texas never had the ball, blah, blah, blah" That is BS - Saban practically waved his arms and told the defense he was going to run. Hell for two thirds of the second half he basically took a knee.

Would have loved to see that game with McCoy, but to say that with him it was over is a joke. Rushing defense tells me all I need to know.

Still though, BUCK FAMA:mj07:

Hey thanks for the facts.... Wonder if I still have to hear MTN WEST teams referred to as "MID MAJOR SCHOOLS"...

I think the SEC domination we have seen this last decade is beginning to fade... We will see next year!

At some point I think it would have to. Some see it in the Big 12 or PAC 10, but I honestly think that if the Big 10 powerhouses could get a little more speed from their skill positions, they would be right there.

Don't get me wrong BB, I would love nothing more than to see Boise get in there and think that is the only hope for a playoff or at the very least, a plus one.

I know Boise has 21 or 22 starters returning, but Bama has a whole lot too

1) I would imagine yes that they will still be referred to as mid-majors because the fact of the matter is in the grand scheme of things they are. This is not to say the boises and tcu's of the world can not beat most teams in a single game setting, but imo the reason the lable is put on them is the competition they play throughout the year. How many games did boise even have a chance to lose during the year, 1-oregon:shrug: Same for tcu who had 1 game they could lose and that was clem. You may not like it and you may disagree, but until the week in and week out competition gets better for both schools, they will still get the lable and thus less respect in the whole bcs bullshit system. Not hating on either team, but if your saying the conference are on par with the other major ones, then yeah your nuts.

2) I guess if the athletes start fleeing the south for other regions this could happen, but I dont think that is likley to happen.

What I am wondering is why Bama gets no credit for knocking him out of the game when they got a chance. They are a relentless blitzing team whose main intent is to get after the QB.

The dumbass OC for Texas decides to have Colt run the option and he got smacked. Thats what happens when you try and get cute.

There is a reason why they don't run the option in the NFL.

Could not agree more. Everyone is crying that McCoy didn't get to play. The ALABAMA defense had something to do with that. It's not like he had some phantom injury. Listen, I would have liked to see McCoy play the entire game and I hate that his college career ended this way. Bottom line is that ALABAMA made the plays necessary to win.
