Looking at a trip to Mexico for the GF and 7 year old son. I have never been to Mexico, so am clueless.

Here is what I am looking for with some basic information if you can at all help.

Info: I do have a timeshare that I own, home base if you will is Las Vegas. Time share wekes and points are via RCI.

Their catalog and info is ok, but I am looking for more experinced individuals that have stayed in Mexico and have recommendations of those places. (I will them look them up as well, so website to place would be great!)

Place does not necessarily have to be only family, but I need a lot of things to do with him. Great snorkeling, great pools, water activites, parasailing etc., are all on the agenda!

So besides these items, what is the best place to compare air flight prices. Lowest possible, but I am not flying anything called Mexican Airlines if you know what I mean. If I am not familiar with the Airline, I ain't getting on the plance! :scared

Look forward to the replies, also if you have other ideas outside of Mexico, that are comparable in price. Let me know!

Gracias!!!

I will mention a few things

1. Aero mexicana- a great airline actually, dont' be turned off by it.

2. I have been heading down to nuevo vallarta (puerto vallarta) every year since 1993, love the place. Been to the mayan riviera (beautiful as well).

Have fun

Above the Clouds....
We've been to Playacar about 7 times. Love it there all-inclusive is the way we go.

Jamiaca is comparable price wise and airfare was actually cheaper than Mex. last year and also this Feb when we're going. Negril if you chose Jamaica. The beaches are the best on the whole island.

All nice places above.

One place where my parents took me and my brother when we were younger was Accupulco and Ixtapa. Real nice places in Mexico when we were kids. Not sure if they're that great anymore though.

Best of Luck in your search!

Good for kids though? Would the Gulf side be better for snorkeling with the little guy??

Morris: I am looking at Playa Del Carmen, have not checked into Jamaica? (Dominican Republic is out for now as well.)
