I'm out of Public Accounting and tax work. I know good small shop people in the city, but will allow BBC to first accomodate. Don't want to step on his toes. He gets offended when I talk out of turn.

Alright sounds good. Thanks for the advice as well

I DOUBLE STAND BY MY ADVICE:box2: :box2: :tongue I have a nv.corp for business great cpa for gaming and then Jerri's and my personal taxes. I would do just as I said. Lot goes under my corp. never had a problem.

Thanks.

I need to get a Nevada Corp setup. I've read about the many benefits. 90% of my business income is generated online and 50% of my workforce are outsourced subcontractors. I hear that is the way to go.

Well once I get this major problem figured out above would you mind if I got that name from you? I'd like to see if she'd work with someone that doesn't reside in Nevada.

If you could maybe send me an email

I'd appreciate it.

If you don't fix it and somehow get audited, good luck getting bent over every year by the IRS for the foreseeable future.

I worked for the IRS for 6 years. If you have any questions, email me. I don't like to talk about my knowledge on public message boards.

I paid off my Student Loan last year (2009) and received notice that I paid $1538.98 interest to the US Department of Education Question is.....

Can I claim this as a credit on my 1040?

safrank99 - CPA here, so I have to give you the correct answer. Get your next accountant to file an amended return for 2008. The IRS has 3 years to pull your return and audit. There are programs that look for statistical anomalies and depending on what was overstated to cause the refund you may have a higher than average chance of being detected. In short it is easier if you clean it up now rather than the IRS bringing it to your attention 2 years from now. You can also do it yourself if you would like, go to IRS.GOV and get a 1040X, don't forget about amending state and local returns as well.
Get my e-mail from Jack if you have any questions.
