"the bunker"
was just out shoveling to try and stay ahead of this mess....winds howling...can`t see a damned thing....

you walk out there and you literally can`t see where the 4 foot shoveled mounds of snow are from the previously cleared sidewalks....

you are literally blind....

no wonder people wander around in circles in whiteout conditions....

just amazing....

Snow Ice Cream:

Ingredients
1 gallon snow
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk

Directions
1.When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once.

Great for Birthday Parties too :SIB

I don't know why you would bother to leave your bunker ever, but especially in these conditions?

I marveled, once again yesterday, when I drove in to work after three days of solid snow here - while not what you guys have had in the east this time, we certainly have had the drill. I drove home in terrible conditions Monday night, Tuesday morning all the roads were clear, some to the pavement.

While it's tough to live in Minnesota in the winter for many reasons, we certainly know how to handle it and get through it in amazing fashion.

Not to be political, but I often thank the high taxes I pay when looking at how these guys are financed to handle the bad winters thanks to our tax dollars. Sometimes we forget what it all goes for - amongst all the crap it goes for, of course.

Hang in there Weasey... I hope you get that snowblower next year - it's worth twice it's weight in gold in times like these... they are as valuable as lawnmowers in our garages - can't imagine shoveling out of what we've had this year.
